l may be biased as a fellow gargantuan, but Idefinitely prefer Coples to Ingram.... and while I realize that the Jets could use the depth, this is shaping up to be the type of draft where it makes sense to move up into the early 2nd to snag another guy that's likely high on their board.

I was thinking that too, unless they're going to balance it out with some offense. So many of these guys are falling, with all our picks I'd be shocked if we stay put in the 2nd.

Weaknesses:

• Not an elite edge pass rusher who can bend and run the arc

• Tendency to play tall and doesn't always use proper leverage

• Must use hands better to take on / disengage from blockers

• Lacks a varied repertoire of pass rush moves and counters

• Inconsistent and motor tends to run hot and cold at times

• Battled case of "Senior-itis" and played not to get hurt in '11

This is just one of the many write ups on this guy. This has gholston 2.0 written all over it. I hope I'm wrong. I really do, but just like the gholston pick I'm calling this guy a bust. the only good thing is we didn't have to trade up to get him.

Posts Weaknesses, without positives.

ALWAYS have a backup plan. Biggest baddest athlete left...

I'm slightly over Barron. If I do the whole Madden thing again a simple trade will do there...kinda sucks that I won't.

Little upset about Ingram...but Coples was absolutely the best player available

Strengths:

• Excellent size and bulk with a large frame and long arms

• Outstanding athleticism with great agility and nimble feet

• Good speed and quickness with a burst and moves well

• Naturally strong and powerful with a violent initial punch

• Able to wreak havoc off the edge or by shooting gaps inside

• Above average run defender who is stout at point of attack

• Does terrific job in pursuit and showcases impressive range

• Powerful tackler who is able to deliver the big knockout hit

• Will disrupt passing lanes when unable to reach backfields

• Is tough, physical and plays game with a nasty demeanor

• Displays solid instincts, awareness and overall football IQ

• Versatile with ability to play multiple positions and schemes

• Productive w/ substantial experience against top competition

• Still has a lot of untapped potential and considerable upside

here's the pros. anytime i see untapped potential it's not even worth posting. guy is a bust. like i said i hope i'm wrong.

My friend's wife just posted on my FB: "Your team better stock up on some Lotramin. The guy they just drafted looks like he's got worms growing on his arms."

I'd say that just about sums it up.

Hell of a football knock?

Those things are a little freakish...Oh that's right I don't care.

That makes no sense.

sh*t, now that I saw video of Melvin Ingram recovering an onsides kick as part of the hands team, I'm totally regreting the Jets' pick.

lmfao.

He can play any position, but what position should he play. Really wanted nothing to do with him for that reason.

But overall, I'm confident in Rex picking defense.

Good pick for the Bears.

I'm not grossed out by it. The reason his arm brand looks like that is hecause he is considered a 'keloid healer'. It's probably relatively new given his age and assumed recent joining of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. People with more pigmentation are more likely to have any skim trauma heal this way. It'll go down a lot over the years though so rest assured

ok, I stole that off the innerwebz

I wanted no part of him as a trade-up, but could've lived w/ him at #16 if Rex liked what he saw when he was in for a visit. With Coples still on the board though, I am very happy the Jets went in that direction. I'm biased against short statured, short-armed players (and human beings in general).

Melvin Ingram is too small for Rex's defense.

Yes. Unless he was playing inside...Smallest OLB Rex has had Might be a decade ago when players were a little smaller...Boulware?

Seriously liking this pick... Not going to be popular until the season starts but nothing they do will get approval until the season starts.

And conversely, Jif's glowing endorsement of Coples has me thrilled with it
