AFJF
Womack, Lofton, Rondell White they just can't seem to get that person to take Bernie's spot. I thought letting go of Lofton was a big mistake at the time. He could have gotten it done if they'd have stuck with him. He can still run better than most and had a hell of a year at the plate for Philly.
shawn306
Lofton never reallly had a chance here. That seems to have been the case with just about anyone they have brought in the replace Bernie. Lofton though is no more than a part time player now.
GimmeShelter
Yankees acquired second baseman Kevin Howard and outfielder Ben Himes from the Reds for Tony Womack and cash. Howard went unpicked in the Rule 5 draft, but he's still out of the organization. The Yankees' only use for him might be as future trade bait. Howard is more of a third baseman than a second baseman defensively, and his ability to hit for average is his primary strength offensively. He's worth more than Womack, but it's not all that likely that he'll develop into a regular. Himes hit .320/.372/.533 in 244 AB for Single-A Sarasota last season, but he was 24 at the time and isn't much of a prospect. Dec. 8 - 2:06 pm et Howard also lead the AFL in avg. this season, with a .409 average. But he is a longshot to make it. His best bet is probably as a utility guy in the inf. Himes - nothing there at this time. He probably never gets more then a Sept. call up, or something like that.
