when was the last time a starting qb caught a td pass?

Recommended Posts

In 1999, Kordell Stewart started 12 games for the Steelers and caught a touchdown pass.

PS: I don't know if that was the last time, I just checked on the guy who I figured might have done it.

I think he meant while actully lined up at QB Stewart also played WR at times before he stepped in full time at QB

You are correct that Stewart started his career as a WR/RB/situational QB, but he threw over 400 passes in 1997 and 1998, so by 1999, when he caught the TD pass, he had progressed into his full time QB stage. It's possible that the TD pass was a trick play where Stewart lined up not at QB, but I think the thread starter meant a player who was basically considered a QB, (which Stewart was by then and Tebow is now), not necessarily meaning he lined up at QB on the play he caught the TD.
