(AP) -- A police report released Friday shows a University of Alabama sorority member didn't want to press charges after claiming she was beat up by the daughter of Crimson Tide football coach Nick Saban. The Tuscaloosa Police Department offense report, obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request, shows that officers initially classified the case as a misdemeanor assault, which is typical for a fight without life-threatening injuries or deadly weapons. Police closed the case without filing charges about three hours later in August 2010, the report shows. A police spokesman, Sgt. Brent Blankley, said officers listed the case as ''administratively cleared'' because the sorority member declined to prosecute. The document doesn't show any names, but police released it in response to a request for documents created after Alabama student Sarah Grimes went to a hospital emergency room claiming she was injured in a fight with Kristen Saban, the coach's daughter. Grimes is now suing for at least $10,000. Kristen Saban has filed papers saying she acted in self-defense and is not responsible for Grimes' injuries. Grimes sued last month in Tuscaloosa County claiming the coach's daughter attacked her during a night of drinking after the two got into a dispute over a Facebook posting. Kristen Saban has asked a court to throw out the lawsuit. The lawsuit said friends took Grimes to the emergency room at DCH Regional Medical Center, where police from the city and the university showed up, along with an official from the university's student affairs office. An ''on-call dean'' typically goes to the hospital if university officers notify them a student is being treated, university spokeswoman Cathy Andreen said. The police report said the incident occurred at a residence at 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2010, a Sunday. The case already was closed by 5:03 a.m., the time listed on the report. Saban and Grimes, of Pensacola, Fla., were both members of Phi Mu sorority. The sorority's white-brick house is located directly across the street from Bryant-Denny Stadium.
