Smizzy
Jets | Martin may have surgery now instead of during the offseason Sat, 10 Dec 2005 06:01:06 -0800 Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Jets RB Curtis Martin (knee) may opt for knee surgery now which would end his 2005 season. As noted earlier, Martin's troublesome right knee was hurting so much Friday, Dec. 9, that it caused genuine concern within the Jets' organization that he might miss his first game in seven years. In jeopardy is Martin's historic quest to become the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first 11 seasons. He needs 265 yards. Martin is believed to have cartilage damage, not a torn ligament. That means the surgery, whenever it's performed, won't be a major reconstruction. AFJF
If he has the surgery, Herm will go to a 5 WR set for the remainder of the season out of respect for his fallen warrior.

You mean Brooks is going to have to run the draw plays all by himself?
AVM
is it just me...or does anyone else have a fear that this will happen...herm will NOT abandon the run...and houston will break for 150 yards, leading us to a victory over oakland...and screwing us out of reggie bush and then...for the people who would begin to call houston the next curtis martin....he'll blow his acl/mcl/and pcl out next week....and we'll realize how truely screwed we are

The Gun Of Bavaria
Does this mean we're going to go out and sign Adrian Murrell as our new RB instead of playing Houston if Martin goes down?
AVM
maybe we could get OJ Simpson to come play for us i mean im sure hes short on cash...and since soo many of you want the coaching staff/some of the players gone.....

When you have to rebuild so much of a team, it's extremely foolish to spend a 1st rounder at a position which is already solid. The Texans may find this out the hard way as Reggie Bush leads them to another top five pick in 2007.

That's true... and if the Jets do get the first pick, and Houston is the real deal... then they should rape some unsuspecting team of all their picks for three years. AVM
no no you dont get it...cedric houston will run for 150 against da RAIDA'S......but be a one hit wonder, or either get injuried like the rest of our team.... fate has it that way, dont you guys realize? lol
Barton
Listen, I love Cedric Houston as much as any Jets fan. But he's no Reggie Bush. Houston and Bush would be a frickin sick 1-2 punch if used correctly. If we do get Bush, I'd give him 70% of the carries and Houston 30% of the carries. Keeps Bush fresh and lets Houston get some action. Houston can be our Lendale White, maybe not quite as powerful, but he can be used similarily. AVM
and since herm and the rest of the staff are so infatuated with martin...lets bring him back as the RB COACH 8) i mean really...i think id be a better rb coach that mr clock management...and someones GOTTA teach houston and bush...might as well be a future HOF whom everyone loves
