gangreenman
So a young injury-proned turnstile is going to replace our washed up never-was turnstile. Got it.

JetsFanInDenver
This move makes no sense. Jason Smith is worse than Wayne Hunter. Atleast Hunter could have played a blocking TE. And they could have waited a short while to pick Jason Smith up.

Funny the guy that ended up packing bags was Hunter and not Holmes after all that jazz. Yeah yeah I get Holmes is uncuttable/tradable. Anyway maybe sometimes it can be change of scenery. T0mShane
Wayne Hunter and Jason Smith are different in that Wayne makes almost $2 mil less this year. Jason Smith's 2012 deal is for $4 mil.
JetsFanInDenver
Excerpt: Right tackle is a different story. Smith is back from his third concussion in as many years, but is being pushed by free-agent acquisition Barry Richardson. Smith was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2009 draft, but has been disappointing through three years. He’s a stout run blocker, but hasn’t done well in pass protection. RyanBe_Tebowing
What the Jets are doing to St. Louis Rams is just horrible. First we give them Schottenheimer now Hunter? I just read a Rams forum, they don't even know whats in store.

SMC
I see what you did there Both picked n the top 5. It's actually worse! Jets now have THREE Top 11 1st round busts from the 2009 draft. Would be funny if Maybin turns out to be the best of them.

slats
I'm failing to see the benefit of this move. I get the Jets not wanting to pay Hunter his guaranteed $2.5M, but I don't get exchanging him for a different bust guaranteed $4M. Smith's concussion history is concerning, too. Matt39
Evan Silva @evansilva Jason Smith trade is humorous. #Jets are gonna need to get a GM who knows something about football. No chance he's actually seen Smith play.

No chance he's actually seen Smith play. Evan Silva @evansilva Both Hunter & Smith's salaries are guaranteed. $4M for Smith. $2.45M for Hunter. So #Rams save $1.55M in trade. Deal makes sense for STL.
