As much as I wanted the WSS to happen, nice to know in the end we will be equal partners in a great stadium for years to come.

Bring on the better video boards! :)

Agreed. This thing looks exactly like Invesco on the inside. Now it makes even more sense why Cross & Mara were in Denver a few weeks ago...

God this is going to be a beautiful stadium!

I think they don't have any idea what it is going to look like so they ripped this out of some coloring book!

But I am all for the concept....I look forward to skiing after the games!

It's a watercolor - OI!

Plus & you can't SKI on all game days - Xanadu has to be closed until 4:00 PM. Unless we have a 4:00 game - then it won't be open at all...

I have a couple of question regarding the sketch. I get the whole Jets fans/Giants fan thing. But:

Why is one of the men dressed for warm weather when almost everyone else wearing a jacket and long pants?

All the people in the sketch appear to be men. Do women not attend football games?

Ditto for people of color, guess they don't go to games either.

Uhh, almost equal partners. If you click the link in my prior post and look at the top left hand side of the drawing, you will see the lovely Giants practice fields. If you want to see the Jets practice fields you will have to get a satellite shot of some point approximately 25 miles from the stadium. That hardly seems "equal" to me.

- 50% ownership

- No Giants colors

- No Giants signs

- No Giants posters, ads.

If the practice field is what makes the stadium for you, well...

That doesn't make the stadium for me, but as usual, the Giants have to have some kind of "edge" that establishes their territorial superiority, no matter how small. If you don't think this is true then you are being naive. This is the reason they kept the big blue "GIANTS STADIUM" sign up for the past 20 years. They could have changed it to the Meadowlands or even left the name but taken the sign down (most stadiums don't have the name plastered on the side) If I was the Jets, I would have insisted that it would have been both or none in the complex. That is total equality.

There is no "Total equality".

If they both had practice field there, Jet fans would scream that one was closer.

If they both were as close to the stadium, Jet fans would scream that one was nicer.

If they were both as close and as nice, Jet fans would scream that one had a better view.

Time to take what we have and make the best of it. This is the best situation the New York Jets have EVER been in when it comes to their stadium.

Enjoy it.

I understand the point about the Jets not practicing there. But it is actually better if they practice a little South.

This way they will be EVEN closer to Jetnation.com Corporate Headquarters. This way we can provide better camp updates in 2 years (premium members).

Just joking. Even the non-premium members will still get the camp updates.

The further south they go, the better the chances that Brenda is their realtor. Cmon...you know you want the Jets future in Brenda's hands! :D

Well, from what I heard over the weekend, the JETS allowed the move of the Giants facility from behind the track to the road next to route 3 was for between $8-10 MILLION DOLLARS - or in laymans terms - the Giants will pay for the construction of our facility...

I'd still call it equal...

Actually for the day-to-day running of the team, better they aren't in that bottleneck and the traffic nightmare that will be Xanadu. Better to be in some bucolic suburb off the Garden State Parkway than this. And what exactly are they going to do with an empty arena? Devils have broken ground in Newark, and the Nets will shortly in Brooklyn.

Psst... PSLs

Detailed plans were released today of the new Giants Stadium to be built in the parking lot of the existing stadium. The Jets will foot half the bill and in return will be allowed to continue to exist in the shadow of the Giants.

Team President L. Jay Cross said, "It is a real pleasure for the New York Jets organization to continue to exist in the shadow of this legendary franchise. New Jersey is the heart of this team, which is to say the heart of this team is decrepit and black, wounded and barely beating. On a personal note, I'd really like to give John Mara a hand job."

After months of bombarding the Jets front office with negative letters, including one in which I gave up my season tickets in protest, I finally got a response today. It almost sounds like Herm Edwards talking after the loss to Pittsburgh in the playoffs last year. I wonder why this wasn't their press release? enjoy. my original letter follows the Jet response below.

I wonder if they sent Ed Anzalone the same letter.

Mr. M,

No one was more disappointed to learn the Jets would be unable to build

a

stadium in New York than Jets ownership and management. Unfortunately,

primarily because of Cablevision's and Madison Square Garden's

monopolistic

conduct, we did not have a completed New York stadium deal when the

window

of opportunity to build and own a facility in New Jersey was about to

close.

The loss of that opportunity would have created substantial risks of

the

Jets being without a home at the end of the current Meadowlands lease

and,

for the foreseeable long term future, remaining a "second class

citizen" as

a tenant in a facility entirely owned by others.

Sincerely,

New York Jets Ticket Office

1000 Fulton Ave.

Hempstead, NY 11550

What a ****ing disgrace this stadium is...this organization is... my

old

team the former New York Jets has become.

After decades of pouring my hard-earned into this team through ticket

purchases, merchandise purchases etc, I now say goodbye.

Time to give up on the New York stadium campaign I suppose. I wonder,

should

I request financial compensation for all those hours I logged helping

you in

the effort back when it was convenient for you to use my passion?

Although, I should mention, I do have enough energy for one more

campaign. I

will organize outraged Jets fans to protest the Jets use of New York in

their printed materials and merchandise. We will protest through the

same

channels we fought for your WSSCC through. The difference is, we will

not

stop until we have what we are fighting for.

You do not play in New York. You will not practice in New York. You

sure as

hell do not represent New York. In fact, you disgrace New York.

I guess when it comes down to it, you deserve New Jersey and New Jersey

deserves you.

Here's to 99 years of futility.

Serious question. Is anything they said in this response untrue?
