faba
NEW YORK (AP) — One politician let his feelings be known after the wild ending of the Seattle Seahawks' 14-12 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach tweeted NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's office phone number after the replacement officials mishandled the final play of the game. Seattle's Golden Tate pushed one Green Bay defender out of the way then wrestled another for the ball and was awarded a disputed touchdown on the final play. Erpenbach said in a separate tweet that if Monday night's ending did not spark an end to the lockout of the regular officials ``this season will be a joke.'' The Crusher
In a related story State Senator Jon Erpenbach was fined 44K by the NFL for stating the obvious. Nobody from the Erpenbach camp could be reached for comment.

JetsFanInDenver
At some point people will understand its not Goddell but its the owners who save the money by underpaying the refs. And its the owners who do not want to get the deal done. Its a fight where billionaires are fighting to save a few tens of thousands per referee. A strong commissionar would get the owners in line & convince them of the impending damage. I couldn't imagine this happening on Rozelle's watch

A fight where job creators....er.....billionaires want to prevent skilled, honest working men like refs in this case from getting a few thousands bucks more and they are ready to sacrifice the quality of the product if that's what it takes. Skilled? Skilled??? Where the hell have those referees been hiding? Because they certainly weren't working for the NFL prior to this season either. Oh yeah, these new guys suck ass, there's no doubt about that. But let's not start pretending that the old guys didn't finish having one of the most embarrassingly horrendous seasons of officiating, including influencing the outcome of both championship games, and then suddenly turn around and expect to be paid more for the dog sh*t job that they do. While how bad the new refs are may be helping their cause, there's not a damn thing the old refs have ever done to help it themselves.

Integrity28
Goodell has nothing to do with this particular issue....he is taking his cues from the owners As opposed to all other situations where he isn't taking his cues from owners? Riiight. Goodell is to the NFL, what David Stern was to the NBA. I am nothing short of befuddled at how quickly Goodell has disrupted the infrastructure that Rozelle and Tagliabue put in place. Blech!
