Remember the huge excitement over Bonds chasing Aaron? That was electric

It was in San Francisco.

Miami would eat it up.

Additionally, Cougars, like the 2 he hit on during the game the other night, still love ARod too.

Just about everything said here was said about Carl Crawford a few months ago.

Someone would take Aroid. Someone has to. Please.

Stop raining on my hopeful parade. Surely as a Jets fan you can identify with hoping for the unrealistic.

ARod is shot so it's likely he won't even be able to approach Bonds' HR record. There is no gate attraction with ARod now since he has admitted his steroid use. That's why the extension was so incredibly stupid.

The Yanks paid a homerun chance premium, assuming ARod would pursue Bonds' record, and right after they signed the contract ARod is outed as a past steroid user. Hank Steinbrenner did that deal and it is a major reason why he is no longer calling shots with the team and it is his younger brother Hal who runs it.

I hope the Mets trade for ARod after Wright leaves as a Free Agent.

:sign0103-1:

I hope the NL adopts the DH, The Mets keep Wright, they trade for ARod for Bobby Parnell, convince the Yankees to eat 90% of his salary, use ARod at DH, he continues the home run chase, and that will draw 3 million fans to Citi Field. Then the Wilpons will reinvest that money in improving the club.

That will be awesome.

No one cares about Arod's home run chase, seriously.

Fully expect the Yankees to waive him and hope someone bites. And then offer to pay the lion's share of his sheety contract. Nobody is going to care at all about catching Bonds, because he won't at this level of nonproduction.Even if he was still putting up mosnter numbers the HR record is ruined.

Would not that Derek Jeter was taking cortisone shots in his ankle fore the last month.Arguably using it and allwoing him to play rather than resting made him more susceptible to this injury. Cortisone is an evil steroid. Lots of athletes in every pro league use it openly. Where are the media scolds about that?

So if you're keeping track at home, this is no big deal, to deal with a recovery from an injury and muscular issue. If however you are healthy and use topical steroid(like Bonds and "the clear") you will make Mike Lupica very mad and he will write columns each Sunday about what a horrible person you are, though even in instances of NFL players using (Brian Cushing, Shawne Merrimane etc.) no biggie. Looking up and down the benches of the NBA, I highly doubt most of these guys are working out that much unless it involves a Kardashian sister and a big joint. The NHL does not test at all after April 1st(if there is a season).

Baseball players taking a cortisone-type steroid-trifles of nothingness. Baseball players taking steroid injections-EVIL!

You root for the team in Queens. You haven't been excited about baseball since 1986. I think you are off base...at one point there was a million dollar prize on one of the home run balls during his chase.

Not sure why the Yankees don't hit until the 9th. The fact that Phil Coke just got the save is going to leave a mark.

Pitching has been great for the Yanks, but I am still so pissed at ARod for missing that damn sac fly in the first series. That series should have been over in 4 games. Doesn't matter, the starters have been great. Hughes stepped up big time tonight. But if you only score one run, that usually doesn't end well.

so A-rod is on the hook for 120 mill over the next 5 years (2013-2017). This equates to 24 mill a year

It's POSSIBLE if NY eats a good chunk of that they could trade him to some NL team who wants to cash in on him passing Ruth in 2016 or 2017. Doubtful but possible.

Incredible that the Yanks have scored 5 total runs in 3 games, all coming in only 2 innings and have not scored a run before the 9th in any of the games.

Kevin Long will have to be fired for the heck of it.

You can put this whole post season of hitting ineptitude on 4 guys

1) Cano

2) Granderson

3) Swisher

4) A-Rod

People seem to think this have only been going since 2010 but this team has been going into hitting funks since 2005. This though has been the worse. You get great starting pitching and when Young hit the HR last night I felt like the game was over.

Haven't listened to any sports talk or read any of the papers, but why did Girardi leave Ibanez in to face Coke? He's been dismal against LHP over the last two years and you have a $30m player who, despite being a mental midget, has crushed lefties this year.

At least force Leyland to make a move to Valverde or Benoit in that spot... you can't give him the matchup he's looking for.

There's no way in hell Girardi was pinch hitting for Ibanez there considering he's a major reason they even got to the ALCS. He also hit a gamewinning homer in the ALDS off a lefty.

That was a good AB against Coke and a nasty 3-2 pitch. It is very hard to lay off a 3-2 slider around the strikezone.

Girardi has taken the Ibanez pinch hot for ARod success too far . It has now gone to his head.

Tonight's line-up win or lose is a joke.

You don't sit ARod in an elimination game for a guy who has not had a hit either. Sitting Granderson for Gardner is also a joke IMO.

Yanks must have info that ARod's roid use was a lot more than the pulic knows and figure he is done as a player.

It is enjoyable listening to spoiled $$Yankee$$ fans calling the FAN all day saying how Tex-Grande-ARod-Cano and Swisher need to go next year.

The only unlikely statement in that paragraph is the Wilpons reinvesting the money to improve the ball club!

COngratulations to GOB and the rest of the Michigander contingent. The Tigers are hands down the better team, even with Jeter. They deserve this and they will be tough to beat in thr WS no matter who they face. This Tigers rotation is outstanding and the lineup right there.

As to the Yankees, the password is AGE.Also the rotation is not what it used to be. CC is as game as there is, but all those innings are taking a toll. A-rod is one of several players who has seen better days. Better a year too soon than a year too late.
