Jetsfan80
Apparently the one lone dissenting voter who didn't vote LeBron for MVP voted Melo. And he's a Boston Globe writer no less. Just trying to make a name for himself or he earnestly thought it was Melo? Guess it doesn't matter. http://www.thebiglead.com/index.php/2013/05/06/gary-washburn-of-the-boston-globe-voted-carmelo-anthony-for-mvp-ahead-of-lebron-james/
T0mShane
I heard him interviewed on Mike and Mike this morning. Came off like a buffoon who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He said that Lebron plays with "great" players like Wade, Bosh, Mario Chalmers, and Udonis Haslem, while Melo plays with "Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace." Then he said that Erik Spoelstra is "considered a top-five coach in the league," while Woodson isn't. Derps all around.
SMC
LeBron is certainly the best player on planet, but come on T0m, he definately has a way better supporting cast than Melo. So the BG writers point is salient.

So the BG writers point is salient. True but there isnt any evidence Melo would become a better passer if he was surrounded by more talent. The great ones create easy buckets for role players. Melo doesnt.

So the BG writers point is salient. The dude conveniently forgot to mention DPOTY Tyson Chandler, Felton, and JR Smith. There is a point to be made that taking Melo off the Knicks turns them into a lottery team, but this guy didn't make that case. On what planet is Spoelstra a "top five coach"? The dude rolls the balls out at practice. Also, they said the Nuggets were a lottery team without Carmelo every year Melo played there. That's always the defense with ball-dominant players--"there's no talent around them"--which holds up until that player leaves and other players get opportunities to shoot. Look no further than the Bulls.

SMC
The key is get to game 5 at the Garden tied 2-2. Homecourt matters in those last 3 usually because most evenly matched teams start 1-1 anyway.

Larz
there would be no debate if they just called it the MOP, most outstanding player than all this supporting cast stuff goes out the window MOP is lebron easy
SMC
Larz, that's a good suggestion. I also like the idea of having an OPY along with DPY. That takes away some supporting cast issues. LOL, T0m. How about the donut away from diabetes? (That was one of the funnier posts in this forum).
Larz
feel really bad about that 5 pt lead after forcing so many TO's barkley at halftime "the pacers have 5 guys in the paint on defense, that makes it tough to score, and that's why they will win the series" oh. didn't realize it was that easy to play defense

rillo
Amazing what playing defense and making shots can do. Not a fan of JR, but if he can find his shot that would be nice. Amare playing Saturday, should be interesting.

But to appease the old-schoolers, they should keep the name and just redefine the meaning and take out the "player who means most to his team" and just say "the best player on the planet." BroadwayJoe12
Prigioni's energy absolutely turned that game around. If they can maintain that energy and intensity they brought from 3 mins left in the 3rd, they could definitely win this series. Defense travels and never hits a slump, there's zero reason to let that die down.
Larz
PA-BLO PA-BLO PA-BLO can someone make a gif of the shumpert follow slam with sparks coming out of his ass ? that would be cool 36-4 run. pacers went 12:17 without a FG somehow, "run" doesn't cut it speed bump is more like it

I think he'll reboot after his 7-40 or whatever it is now True and you can tell it's really hitting him hard, he's hanging his head after every time out even as Melo goes over and consoles him. Gotta give the kid credit though, he's still grinding it out there on the defensive end and not slacking. He certainly deserves the knocks he's getting, but how about Kidd not making a shot in 6 games, I mean talk about cold.

I saw him jawing with a few pacers, he's still got some swag which is key. kidd doesn't even want to shoot. he really needs one to go in to break the ice like the other slump he had
