In other roster moves, we have some repeat moves as the Jets have signed back WR Jason Hill to the team and once again waived S Antonio Allen. Allen had 2 tackles and a sack in 3 games with the team.

The Jets have also picked up UDFA from the Colts G Hayworth Hicks. Hicks is from Iowa St. and is currently listed at 6-3 336 lbs. He will be the 10th offensive lineman on the roster.

Last bit of news today, is that S Eric Smith is going to play in the game against the Seahawks which is the reason why S Antonio Allen was let go. Smith is coming off of knee and hip injuries and hadn’t played since week 5.

Whats the point?

when a team signs a player off of another team's taxi squad, they have to keep him for several weeks. for an unknown quantity, It's a commitment in NFL terms.

I interpret this as the Jets not happy with current guard play. It's possible they don't like either of the current LG options and may be getting second thoughts about resigning Moore.
