Smith is coming off of knee and hip injuries and hadn’t played since week 5. Eric Smith, dealing w/knee & hip (torn ligaments/bone chips) ailments, told me yesterday he’s playing vs Seahawks. bitonti
Whats the point? when a team signs a player off of another team's taxi squad, they have to keep him for several weeks. for an unknown quantity, It's a commitment in NFL terms. I interpret this as the Jets not happy with current guard play. It's possible they don't like either of the current LG options and may be getting second thoughts about resigning Moore. http://thejetsblog.com/nyjets/jets-sign-hayworth-hicks/

kelticwizard
I'm just glad they re-signed WR Jason Hill. The kid got cut a week or two after catching a TD pass and that struck me as a real kick in the nuts.
