Enough with this Leinart talk

Listening to wfan today and Joe B why is it that the Jets MUST take Leinart? Why? proven college winnner? so what! He is in a great system, surrounded by great players and never hit. I think if the Jets draft him it would be a HUGE mistake. Marcus Allen and Keyshawn have both said Leinart would be good in the right system. Well I do not think Heimy's chuck and duck system is the right fit. In my eyes it was Bush or bust. The Jets need to upgrade other positions i.e. offensive line and defensive line in the draft and get the qb help in the form of a free agent.

Matt Leinart is a left-handed version of Chad Pennington. If you think Chad is not suited for Heimerdinger's offense, then you think Leinart is not right, either. I think the kid is a great college football player, but I'm not too sure about his pro career. I'd be happy to see a trade down, an OT, and LenDale White, personally.

Matt Leinart is a left-handed version of Chad Pennington. If you think Chad is not suited for Heimerdinger's offense, then you think Leinart is not right, either. Leinart's arm strength is considerably better than Chad's ever was. Does he have a cannon? Certainly not..but his arm strength is at least "average".

Im open minded on whether we select Leinart or not. W/ that said, we hafta take a QB or an RB w/ the 1st pick. We simply cant go into next season w/ the starting backfield we currently employ.

Leinart floats the ball out there to his WR's just like Pennington used to float his passes out there to Randy Moss at Marshall. You'd see the same QB (minus the lefty/righty difference) if you compare them. Pennington was touted as having an average arm when he was drafted, too, by the way. Pass on Leinart.

From all I'm reading he sounds like another guy with all the smarts, heart, character, and arm of Chad Pennington. That train ride to mediocrity is getting old.
