Smizzy
It's still very early in the evaluation process but the New York Jets, or at least some members of the coaching staff, are anything but head-over-heels on Southern Cal star quarterback Matt Leinart. Like some other staffs, the Jets have concerns over Leinart's perceived lack of arm strength and limited movement. It would be interesting to see, if Leinart dropped to the Jets' slot in the first round, what New York officials would do. The Jets certainly need to cover themselves in the event Chad Pennington is not ready for the start of the season, following two rotator cuff surgeries in a 10-month span, but the coaches feel Leinart would be a high-priced gamble. New York will likely fill its need at quarterback in free agency
SouthernJet
i agree,, if we cant get bush, then trade down and fill other needs,, and get a QB thru free agency or trade...
The Troll
I don't want to draft a weak-armed quarterback to replace Chad Pennington. How many weak-armed QBs do we need? Perhaps, we can draft Lineart and keep Fiedler, then we can add up all Pennington, Bollinger, Fielder, and Lineart's passes to make one Peyton Manning pass. If we decide to draft a quarterback in the first round, then it should be Jay Cutler.

A great Senior Bowl is all it would take.

Big Dave
If you don't want him, we'll take him. He's a very good pro prospect.
LionelRichie
i agree,, if we cant get bush, then trade down and fill other needs,, and get a QB thru free agency or trade... bush has the most talent i have seen in college football in years but he will command one of the highest signing bonuses ever given to an nfl player without ever taking 1 snap. i don't see how the jets could be competitive with that much $$ tied up in 2 players. i would rather see the jets fire TB, trade down, rebuild the line, and plug the rest of the holes on this team.
