Smizzy
Jets | Dispute over 20 acres for new stadium complex Fri, 16 Dec 2005 20:26:45 -0800 Plans submitted by the New York Giants and New York Jets earlier this week call for a stadium complex which is 20 acres larger than state officials expected, according to the Associated Press. The teams were expected to design a complex taking up 75 acres, but submitted plans for a 95-acre complex, according to New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority chairman Carl Goldberg. The extra 20-acre parcel is needed for a headquarters and training facility for the Giants. Jets spokesman Matt Higgins said the teams understood the state had agreed to provide extra land for practice facilities. Goldberg said the plans submitted were only preliminary, and they would be expected to pay more for additional property at the sports complex.
