to clarify earlier comment, flynn avg's 6.5 m a year. smith averages 8 mil. sanchez contract has averged 13.5 mil. Owners are willing to eat some money but not that much. whoever is in charge of the Jets next year, that fact doesn't change. and if Mark is so damn terrible and 2013 is rebuilding then there's no downside in letting him play. especially cause the QB class is so weak this draft.

To get a Qualified new GM and coach, they will want to cut sanchez and rebuild from scratch. No other option. I Still believe the trinity is still here next yr mon, suckitude will continue

yeah, but there is an off season coming, maybe Sparano can *work* with Mark on some of his problems...

He's toast in NY - If I was Sanchez I would be working to secure my release so I could catch on with another franchise - did anyone else see when he got replaced by GMAC and he took his helmet off and put a cap on - it looked like a thousand pound weight had been lifted from his shoulders - it's now a mental issue and that can never be fixed here.

ok so let's imagine a new GM and a new coach "rebuilding from scratch" - what does that mean? Stopgap like Alex Smith at QB for 7 mil, at the same time pay 10 mil for Sanchez to hold a clipboard on the Raiders? the draft for Qb sucks this year, play McElroy for 16 games might work cause Greg is so cheap. Either there's realistic scenario where the rebuilding Jets in 2013 don't have Sanchez on the roster.

The downside is a fan revolt.

I wonder what the combined molecular weight is of the hate of the 98%/entire JETS fanbase is ?

I did enjoy the article. The "**** it I'm going deep offense" sounds all well and good but I do think this is a point where we can point out lack of deep threats. Then again, this might tie in well with Hill, who ran nothing but go routes in college. At this stage I don't really wanna watch football while he's under center.

sanchunks definitely ruins sundays mon and love of pro football, at least saturdays are sacred

Yep, he ruins Sunday. First time in a long time I've stopped watching a game happened this year because he's so bad.

I've always been a staunch NFL >>> NCAA fan...but the way the NFL is evolving, that gap is closing. Its becoming Professional Wrestling the way the media covers the league. It ridiculous.

Then you might as well plan something to do other than watch football on Sunday afternoons in the fall of 2013....

This article sounds like it was written by JiF. Grossman did go to Florida, after all. Hmmmm.

F*** It, I'm Throwing it Downfield

Big Daddy Drew

Is that Berrian? I think he’s triple-covered. You know what? **** it. I’m throwing it downfield.

Yeah, I see Jones open on the flank. But **** that. Dumpoff passes are for faggots. I’m ****ing Sexy Rexy Grossman. I can get that ball in there. And, even if I can’t, I bet I’ll be able to pull it off the next go round. I like throwing the ball long. It makes my dick hard.

What’s that? I should throw a quick slant? **** that. That’s gay. Button hook? Gay. Flare out? Gay. Screen pass? Kevin Spacey gay. This is ****ing football. You can’t just expect wins to come to you. You can’t massage that sh*t. You gotta grab that game by the throat and rape the ever-loving sh*t out of it. You think a 5-yard out is gonna win you a game? You’re a pussy. This ain’t John Shoop running this offense. Sexy Rexy’s got the arm. The dragon. You gotta unleash the dragon.

Okay, I’m throwing it. Nice. Look how far it went. I look good. I bet I made that Pats cheerleader wet her panties with that throw. She ****ing wants me. I bet she likes it over a stair railing. I can hit that with 100% accuracy, my dear. Mmmmmm. I am delicious.

Oh sh*t. Looks like Samuel caught it. Again. Oh well. It still felt ****ing great to throw that sh*t. Tell me that wasn’t one of the prettiest passes you ever saw. You know what? Not only am I gonna throw it long the next time we hit the field. I’m gonna throw it even longer. Harder. You see that kid in wheelchair sitting in the end zone bleachers? I’m gonna nail him right between the ****ing eyes with a Sexy Rexy fastball. Why? Because I can.

This is Rex Grossman we’re talking about here. We’re talking 210 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. I’m not just a gunslinger. I’m a cumslinger. Throwing that ball long tells all the Rexettes that I am ****ing out there. On the edge. Where I gotta be. The ladies love the danger. The unpredictability. Oh, maybe I’ll tease them with a pretty touch pass every now and again. But then I’m gonna go right back to pumping that ball out for all it’s worth. It tells them I throw like I ****. That’s how we do things in the sexy business.

Tell me you’re not turned on right now. I am.

IMO Cut Sanchez sign either matt moore/campbell on the cheap or Inquire about Flynn if price is right, Trade Revis for picks, cut BT Pace and Greene , Trade or cut Harris. Draft a QB in 2014 draft. Go yung mon

Acquire as many picks as possible.

Total rebuild.

the Jets have to pay sanchez, even if he's not on the team. Why cut him? It's fully guaranteed money.

if you want to rebuild for 2014 and sanchez sucks than why cut him? Ride his suckyness to the #1 pick.

btw trading revis for picks would be the worst football move ever. no way to get value for that.

Yeah, G-d forbid someone try and actually start a football conversation around here that didn't involve whining and bitching a moaning.

An OP that use the words "fix" and "Sanchez" can only result in whining and bitching. Maybe start a thread making fun of Miami? I think they're about to lose by 40 to the Niners this week.

Bad karma if sanchez is on team, might as well jettison him and his clippy mon

Revis will never see a SB here, he will holdout and will cost too many $$$ and plus team is in rebuild stage, sell to highest bidder.

even if that were true, the time to trade Revis is not after an ACL tear. His value is at a low. (and it's still a terrible awful bad move)

Can he be fixed? This guy makes a fairly compelling case that the Jets should throw caution to the wind where Sanchez is concerned. Worst case scenario would be a more entertaining brand of football for us to watch:

At this point you have to try anything...

Whether or not Sparano is capable/willing is a whole other story..
