Alk
god damn, he is one bad mama jamma! He better be, I need a huge game out of him for my FF semifinals. I didn't expect Dillon to have the game that he had and he's on my opponents team. I need Tiki to offset that performance.

Bugg
Can anyone say, wit a straight face, that Martin (the WARRIOR!) could have the kind of game both Barber and Johnson are having? OF COURSE NOT. In fact, he never has had a big game like this. NEVER. Martin ins't as fast or as strong or as shifty as either. If he's THE MAN in 2006, this franchise will be lucky to win 4 games. Also,as to The Theisman School of Misapplied Football Statistics, once again, the team that's ahead runs the ball late in the game to run out the clock. Ya know-that thing real running backs do when their team is winning late in the 4th that Martin couldn't do in either playoff game last year. SO of course, winning teams are more likely to run the ball a lot as the game gose on, the team from behind passes the ball. So the fact that 100-yard rushers/30+ carry teams generally win while 300+ passers generally lose is more a byproduct of winning football than the reason a team wins or loses. And Johnson is something of an aberration-he's over 100/ with 30 carries, but now late in the game they won't do anything but throw. Still a very impressive game for both guys. Which is more reason to cut Martin-he cannot do this. Tune in to ESPN tonight or tommorrow night to hear Theisman AGAIN postulate that teams should just run the ball 30+ time because when they rush that much they win 90% of the time, or to express amazement that a 300+ yard passer lost. Lets see what Tiki and LJ do when they are 32.. Martin has had games like that in his career... He went over 200 vs Pittsburgh in 2003 and Cincinatti in 2004.. He was labled as a top 5 HB in the game from 1998-2001.. Hes had big games... Tiki is good now, but hes getting up there in age too.. Hes 30.. After that RB's usually take a nosedive.. I really don't like when fans forget how good players were.. Yankee fans do that to Bernie Williams as well..

Bugg
When Barber is 33, he'll be on ESPN instead of embarrassing himself. Johnson's still pretty young. So the 2 games you site are Martin in the snow in a string-playout(which still wasn't a blowout), and a Bengals team breaking in carson Palemer. Sure, he's also had some big ones in blowouts vs. the Fins or Bills. Big deal. When it's mattered-Denver in jan. 1999 or the playoffs the last few years,or any number of games down the strech that Edwards' teams typically blow late in the season, he's useless. Yes, RBs do take a dive after 30. And in Martin's case, it's pretty much souring his whole reputation.
Bugg
I love Bernie. But he's coming back cutrate because he knows he isn't the player he used to be. It's different for RBs though-33 is done.

GimmeShelter
Leave it to the usual suspect to jack a Tiki thread and make it about Martin or Herm. Yep Martins is getting old....so is the same ole lame agenda.
GlennFoley
Bugg, Your expectations are much too high, Your upset that the Giants are the real deal, and its okay.. They are New Yorks team; they are expected to be good as they represent NY.. You and I cheer for New Yorks secondary team.. Sure we have some passionate fans, but the majority of this city doesn't give a sh*t about this team. You have unrealalistc expectations.. A good comparision would be the state of Indiana football... Notre Dame is the primary team much like the Giants.. Purdue is the secondary team much like the Jets.. Purdue will have its moments, but overall will always be inferior... Thats why the Giants have a great ownerships that is committing to winning, and we have ol' Woody..
