Maxman
Lamont Jordan Will Never Gain 1,000 Yards Rushing, in a single season. That was the statement that I made. Over and over again. I was laughed at for it. Everyone told me 1,000 was so easy to gain. Well he has 2 games left. And he still has 107 yards to go. I guess if Lamont had more of a receiving threat on the team...oh wait he does. Lamont is a Hall Of Famer. The blame must rest elsewhere. Maybe Herm and Hackett saw the real Lamont. And that is why he didn't play much last season while Curtis was leading the NFL in rushing. 3.6 yards per carry. Keep up the good work Lamont. Thanks for not straddling us with yet ANOTHER bad contract to deal with next year.
The Gun Of Bavaria
Oakland's offense is pathetic. No OL, no passing game whatsoever. Kinds of reminds me of another team I know. Jordan will excel once Oakland gets its crap together. He's definitely no WARRIOR though.

Ikeyman3
I was not sold on Lamont as well, but I would have taken him over Martin. We made the right decision, it was not feasible capwise to sign Jordan. He is getting his touches but he has been an utter dissapointment. I still think he is a good back, but it lloks like the Raiders overpayed here. Maybe he is justa change of pace guy. I think he gets to 1000. Raiders have 3 games left, how does he get 35 YPG? Yeah it's late and I screwed up. I was pretty much admitting that he would get there with 2 games...obviously it is a no-brainer with 3. Still though...Lamont isn't what Jet fans proclaimed him to be the past few years.

He was here. Use him. But, alas, it wasn't about maximizing talent, it was about getting Martin his carries so he could compile stats. Although that was speculation and innuendo for the first four years of the Herm error, this year it has become documented as fact. And guess what? Herm will be the HC in 2006 and the starting RB will be The Warrior. But look on the bright side- Donnie Henderson won't be getting any HC offers. I know alot of us were concerned we were going to lose him.
Maxman
You know what Moses....I would love to have availability to talk to Hackett and Dinger. Off the record. Honestly I never believed Herm was forcing anything but this year it started to creep in. Martin was doing awesome last year. So I could see why they didn't feel the need to spell him. But this year with his 3.3 YPC? Dinger rode Eddie George like a mule....but I am shocked Blaylock went through those early games with no touches. JetsMan57
Its hard to rush for a 1000 yards getting 15 carries a game running behind a horrendous OLINE. When Martin struggles its because of the OLINE. When Jordan struggles (3 raider olinemen have missed significant time this year) he stinks. I did say often last year that it would have been had to surpass what Curtis did. Curtis had 1,700 yards, if Lamont was better than that...he would have been over 2,000? Preston Howley III
What about 2003? Martin had two high ankle sprains and I don't think Jordan averaged 2 carries a game. Look, this year, Herm got caught in an unguarded moment. Because of the injuries excuse gift wrapped, Herm felt comfortable saying "it's important to get Curtis his thousand yards/11 seasons record". But Martin and his stats have always been a priority. It wasn't something they just thought, "hey the season is going nowhere, so lets concentrate on this now". It's just that they have been outted under these circumstances. It's real simple why Herm does not deserve to be HC: He waits until the team is in a crisis to make any personell changes. Granted, he's been lucky with that M.O. twice (2001, and 2002). But it's not a recipe for success. Case in point and most recent example- He waits ten weeks to spell a guy playing on an injured knee??? Think about that. And if Martin did not reach the point where he simply could not suit up and show up on the sideline- Herm would still be feeding him the ball. And it's real easy to dismiss all this as "Hey, it's no big deal, this team wasn't going anywhere, any way". But what the Herm Apologists conveniently fail to acknowledge is Herm pulls this same crap when the team isn't riddled with injuries. If Pennington or Fiedler were the starting QB, and not Bollinger, the same situation with Curtis this year would have played out, thus handicapping an otherwise potential division title (and this year 9-7 very well could have done it). There is NO WAY Hermy would have benched Curtis, even if Pennington was playing, until Curtis said "I can't go". This is reason #1 why Herm has to go (but of course he wont, because Woody Johnson is an **shole.
Maxman
Moses....I agree. I didn't at the time but I do now. What is even worse? I think that the stats are more important to Herm. Honestly think Curtis cares less about them.
