Green Jets & Ham
He's flying up the board at warp speed Kiper now his him at #12 Overall on his big board, another site has him being selected 3rd Overall AHEAD of Matt Leinart, Riggo loves him, Bitonti loves him, I love him, etc. etc. etc. And don't think it's all hype ... it isn't ... today Howie Long said on fox that some sources are telling him Cutler looks like a young Brett Favre ... BIG KID with a BIG ARM and a ton of athletic ability ... also tough as nails, you can hit him but you can't keep him down! IMO Cutler has way better "TOOLS" than leinart ... and I DO believe he'll be the better pro

I've loved him for quite some time as well, but I was in the grips of wishful thinking, hoping we could steal him at the TOP of RD 2 ... not happening ... right now this kid is skyrocketing up the board, and I do believe he will eventually land in the TOP 5 Overall, or right in that neighborhood

The Troll
So did DFat. How did that work out? D-Fat was not all that productive in college, and he also did not turn a perrenial loser into a contender. Cutler was the best quarterback in the best conference in college football. For him to nearly lead VANDERBILT to a bowl berth is truly astonishing.

No doubt, troll ... threw for over 3,000 Yards this year and over 20 TD's with only like 8 INT's And with NOTHING to compliment his Game in terms of talented skill position players or an O-line

RSJ
A week or two ago Mike Mayock (draft guy on NFL network) said that most scouts consider Cutler a better prospect than Leinart. He also stated that Cutler will probably go higher.

afosomf
If we take Cutler with a top 5 pick i am thru with this team. This kid is a project and not worthy of a top 5 pick. Trading down is one thing, making another mistake like this will kill a franchise.

Guys like Dan Mcguire and Todd marinovich (from USC) were worthy of first round picks but Brett Farve wasn't.
4HCrew
If the Jets take a qb with a top 5 pick it will set this team back another 3 years. The Jets must improve their O Line immediately and without cap space it has to be done through the draft. And the D Line needs help as well at the tackle position

And the D Line needs help as well at the tackle position after watching the bears last night i am convinced the quickest route to being competitive is through the defense. that's what makes the bust that is DRob that much more dificult to stomach. just watching tommie harris dominate is excruciating. that being said, i have never seen ngata play in college but if he is as good as advertised i would love to see the jets move down from #2 overall and grab him or another dominant defensive player. AFJF
Christ, with all of these "experts" picking more and more QBs over Leinart, we might be able to get him in the 5th rd. I just find it hard to believe that a couple of weeks ago Leinart was a lock for a top 2 pick and now I'm hearing that Brady Quinn and Cutler will go ahead of him, and possibly even Stanton out of Mich St.
bman
if the jets plan on spending a top 5 pick on a qb I'm SURE they would use it on Rivers.

If Marinovich had anything between the ears he would have been an NFL HOF QB. He certainly had the talent imo.

I agree 100%. The problem is a lack of cosistent defensive phylosophy thoughout the Jets organization. While in the right system D Rob might be much more effective he is surrounded by 3-4 personel. He was a mistake in more than one way. But we are in agreement - you build a champion with defense first and it starts with the front 7. Although I would not complain with a trade down that landed Jimmy Williams and some other picks.

afosomf
Yes TX, i'm afraid we will do just that, that is why the Jests suck as a football entity. BTW who is a better backup FLutie or Brooksie?
