The Gun Of Bavaria
Seriously. While Johnny Damon is no Babe Ruth, you can't help but compare the two episodes of THEFT together. How do you let Damon go if you're the Red Sox? How? Could you imagine Brady to the Jets? Favre to the Vikings? Yzerman to the Avalanche? Artest to the Pistons? The Red Sox are a unguided rudderless ship, adrift in the sea of the unknown and stupidity. Instead of building on a WS title, they've effectively dismantled their squad through sheer stupidity and ineptness. Boston, welcome to to reality. You now effectively suck. GimmeShelter
Actually Beckett, Mota, Marte,Lowell,Loretta and Saenz. It's only December and they have time to take care of CF. If they can convince the Indians to do a Clement for Crisp deal I think they will be better off at Center.
Garb
wrong - once they "rid" themselves of Manny Ramirez, they will have completed 'Lyin' Larry's "One and Done" plan. This plan where they dump payroll, deplete the farm system and increase ticket prices. All the while, the paid-for media will bombard RSN with Pro Red Sox propaganda at nauseum 'till most of the sheep blindly follow. BTW - do not ever compare Tom Brady to Johnny Damon. EVER! That is disgusting.

Tom Brady is not only the face of the Pats, he is the face of what is good about Boston Sports, National Football and Life itself. Johnny Damon was a very popular, fun-loving, goofball who made the young girls swoon....but to say that he is/was more popular than David Ortiz is nuts. I live in Boston. I know this to be fact. mbn007
Any CF the Bosox try to trade for, the price has suddenly increased. It is like the Phils were, trying to hold up the ankees for Wang/Cano for Michaels. Phils may try to do that to the Bosox now. Any deal for Michaels starts with Papleton. Mavrik
Look up Crisp's numbers. Won't be a easy guy to aquire but he's a good one. Sox would be better off going after Sizemore, put him in Center. More upside offensively. Damon's never been a defensive gem so they'd basically be getting the same outfielder, albeit one who hasn't broken out yet.

Exactly right, mbn ... the price for a CF Just went THROUGH THE ROOF for the Bosox You nailed it, my friend ... same way teams were trying to hold us up for Wang or Cano, for some mediocre CF, Bosox Just took our place

Hope the starters can get to the 5.2 mark, and hope the gascans in the bullpen dont relinquish a lead before its "Enter Sandman" time... oh, and pray like hell that Mariano can: 1. still be Mariano after all these years 2. avoid a situation where his pipecleaner arm doesnt fall off

Jet/BosoxFan
Mariano came off a career year, why should we worry about him? I dont know, maybe because every single closer eventually declines and hits rock bottom at the very drop of a hat and he has been your closer since the Pleisticene Epoch. Oh, and without him in top form youre basically f*cked six ways to Sunday. I'm Just sayin'.

With either the yanks or the sox bats behind him he will be the cy young in the AL hands down.

Yea...that's your opinion...great...but why sh*t on the yankees for trying to get him (anyone who knows anyhting about anyhting knows he will come up HUGE) when the sox and stros are also bidding for him? The bias leaks through in your post. Don't say bc yanks having johnson...and he was the 41 year old experiment gone wrong...because the sox are brining back john wayne minus his horse next season...that should be fun to watch.
