All this talk about "Is Johnny Damon worth the mobney" is assinine. All this talk about "how could Boston let this happen" is even more assinine! Let me explain:

1. Of course he isnt worth the money that the Yankees offered! Why would he be? Nobody on that payroll is worth their money! Thats just the way it is and the way it has been. Deal with it! Suck it up! It doesnt mean sh!t anymore! That team isnt going to win the WS this year either!

This has been happening for the last decade. Thats why I am not upset in the least about Johnny Damon going to NY, I was 90% sure that he was going there before the season was over and he made it clear that he wanted to "test the free agent market". There is no "testing" to be perfectly clear. If youre a big name superstar/future HOFer, you go to the Yanks...and spend a few weeks talking your price up and nickel-and-diming george. And then you become a Yankee. And then the NYY fanbase rejoices for the rest of the offseason. And they think they've finally got the guy to steamroll through the rest of the league...and alas, they fall short. And every year Yankee Hater Nation gets to revel in their misery as they try to find answers for the biggest tankjob in sports history, because every year george outdoes himself!

So please spare me all the drama about how could Boston be so dumb!?!??! Jose Contreras anyone? It makes you souns like you dont know what youre talking about. How many teams have lost a superstar to the Yankees due to cold hard cash?!?!?!?

Oh, and Garb, you can spare us too any time now! When the stealth ninja FO plucked Beckett AND Mota away from FLA, you lost your right to criticize them for anything! Or are you that fickle? So we lost a good player to NYY...its happened before, it will happen again!
