Tells you all you need to know about what Boston thought about Iggy as a prospect. 

 

Hardly. 

 

Iglesias was shaping up to be Ozzie Smith.  All World D with ok bat.

 

Boagerts will be an average to slightly above average defensive SS, but with a lot better bat. 

 

I am not equating him to Jeter, but he is just as tall could see him being similar offensively and defensively.

 

With Middlebrooks (for the time being) projected to be the 3B, Boagerts and his bat makes a little more sense at SS then Igelsias.  They have another decent SS at A who projects to be a solid defensive SS with okay bat.  When he is ready in a few years, Boagerts can switch to third as he 'fills out' and Middlebrooks can be traded.

He was what he was. A really good defensive player with offensive limitations.  They have better SS prospects behind him and they used his hot start this season to pick up a solid starting pitcher in case Buchholz can't come back.
