Matt39
who is he kidding, Santana Moss still runs out of bounds. a different coach didn't turn him into Ray Nitchke Bit, Santana looks like a completely different player from his time with the Jets. That comment alone should throw up huge red flags to all you guys who like Herm. Players have gotten away with stuff here that wouldn't fly anywhere else. Injuries are injuries, but it sure is funny right after Lott leaves, players start going down with muscle tears.

There comes a time when legitimate Herm-bashing ammo turns into total tomfoolery. Moss is looking better because he is playing in a vertical offense. He is a deep-threat guy, not a west coast offense guy. Plain and simple.
GimmeShelter
Moss looked as good for the Jets in 2003. His interview on the NFL network confirms what many of us thought last year, he took large chunks of the season off.

The Redskins realized what they had in Moss. Gibbs knows how to utilize him. Moss has had alot of success on screens as well. They probably have about 20 or so plays desgned specifically to get the ball in the hands of Moss. Something under Herm, would have never happened. Gotta get Curt that 1000! GimmeShelter
But we have the master motivator! Not a huge Herm guy myself but in fairness I know when we are being silly looking for any angle to post negatively on him. Anyway, Heimerdinger was the guy who looked at film on Moss and said he wanted him gone.

Those short little crossing patterns over the middle of the field are not Santana's forte. His success this year is all about him getting the ball deeper downfield and using his speed to make plays. Gotta get Curt that 1000! We ran all those plays for him as well until he stopped looking to break them. We didn't see Moss playing at full steam until the play-offs and even then he had a drop and broke off a route that hurt us in that game. Do you remember him on punts last year during the season?. Matt39
Yeah I remember him on punts. It was a disgrace to watch. Why was he even back there if he wasn't going to try. The guy was obviously dogging it and Herm didn't care. There have been many incidents under Herm's tenure where guys have been coddled to an extreme. Falling asleep in the locker room to me, is just embarassing.

Matt39
If we didnt suck at more important positions I would have taken a strong look at WR early in the draft. Coles is in the 2nd-3rd tier number one guys and McCariens is a number 3. Cotchery- who knows at this point. Overall though, none of those guys are burners. Bugg
Look on the not-so-bright side-was watching the Bucs/Falcons game when the announcer says after a completion to Anthony Becht that that was his first catch in 4 games. Might miss his blocking, but the guy was worse than anyone in the passing game. even funnnier-Becht got up and started aping around like he just won the lottery, though it was a 3rd down play for a 1st down. Wild OT-2 blocked FGs. At first the announcers were like"put the FG unit in NOW!", and by the end"don't trust this to the FG unit."
JYtheJETSfan
Ive been thinking about what moss said about not being able to run out of bounds like he did in New York. I dont think this is testament against edwards coaching ability.... I believe that it is a punch at Jets Fans. Listen, his season in 2003 was just as astounding as his the present. I think he took to heart all the stuff that we jets fans (including myself) have been saying about him. Now that is playing in a proper offense for his style of play, he is rubbing it in our faces. Think about it.
