drocksthaparty
Today the Jets made a roster move when they signed small school OT/OG Patrick Ford, who played college ball for the Eastern Kentucky University. Patrick Ford was a mammoth of an offensive tackle this year for the EKU offense. He opened up huge holes for their running back Matt Denham and Ford was able to give his quarterback time to hit wide receiver Tyrone Goard for huge yardage. Ford was a very prominent player in the OVC last year. He might be asked to move inside, but no matter what, I think Ford will be able to hold up well against NFL talent. If he can run and perform well after his injury at EKU he could surprise many scouts and talent evaluators. http://nfldraftdiamonds.com/draft-zone-spotlight-patrick-ford-ot-og-eastern-kentucky-university/ Per NFL Draft Diamonds

faba
That is like a press release for the player instead of a neutral evaluation
JetNation
Continuing with the new General Manager’s mantra of competition, the Jets continue to bring in players to compete for roster spots. Today the Jets signed offensive lineman Patrick Ford and released Tackle Dennis Landolt. The Jets have released T Dennis Landolt, signed OL Patrick Ford, and placed RB John Griffin on Injured Reserve. — New York Jets (@nyjets) August 13, 2013 The former Eastern Kentucky alumni is listed as 6’6″ and 315 lbs and has some flexibility to play both Tackle and Guard. Patrick Ford is from Eastern Kentucky. 6-5 1/2 and 316 pounds. Ability to play Tackle & Guard. Coming off knee surgery from 10/15/12. #NYJ — Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 13, 2013 If Patrick Ford can stay healthy he has a legitimate shot at making the team and he may be able to contribute to the Success the NY Jets have this year. #27TheDominator
That is like a press release for the player instead of a neutral evaluation It kind of is. It is the intro for an interview with the kid from a small school touting website. He might not be a bad pickup. Small school kid probably would have been a PFA if he weren't coming off an ACL injury. Couldn't do a full workout or play in the all star games because of it. sourceworx
Can't be worse than some of the backup O-Linemen already on the roster. Give him a chance.
slats
They really need to improve the depth on the OL. I definitely expect a few moves in the mini-draft at OL, maybe even looking for starters. In the end, this guy is probably a practice squad candidate. And that's fine.

#27TheDominator
This team had an interesting relationship with Landolt. They kept him around after a very serious injury. Carried him on the roster for quite some time even when he was hurt and totally unproven. I figured he'd be gone when they switched regimes, but he stuck around a little while.
