Barton
Looks like the Saints due to SOS. I'll await Ham to do all the math crunching after tomorrows games..... Lets say the Texans beat the 49ers next week (and I think they really might, the Texans are probably a better team), and the saints and Jets lose out. 1. Saints 2. Jets 3. Texans Saints get Leinart. We get Bush! = = = = = = = = = = = Or Texans lose next week, saints and jets lose out. 1. Texans 2. Saints 3. Jets This makes it harder for us to get Bush....BUT If the Texans target Dbrick then they know they can get him aat #3 because the Saints would definetly take Leinart. So the Jets and Texans work out a trade..... 1. Jets 2. Saints 3. Texans 1. Bush 2. Leinart 3. Ferguson + future Jet 1st rd pick & 4th or 5th - - - - - - - - - - - I cant believe the Lions won, damn lucky thats all. But Reggie will not be playing for some lowly rundown franchise that doesnt have its own stadium or practice field, and the NFL probably wont let it happen. Plus, the saints have Deuce McAlister! Texans could take Bush, but its not an automatic pick because Davis is the best offensive player and the Texans really need a left tackle - badly. Do you know how much it would take for us to trade up to the #1 pick? One player is not going to turn this team into a contender overnight. If we felt we were a running back away from the Super Bowl, maybe I do that, but no way in hell do I give up the farm for an under-sized running back. Bush could always force their hand and say I wont play in Houston. If I am the texans I'd rather have Dominick Davis, Dbrick + future 1st rd pick and a 4th or 5th, then Reggie Bush and a 2nd rate LT in the draft. Texans are so far off from competing, they should stick with Davis who is a top 10 back, trade down and get a franchise type LT in Dbrick + draft picks and a future 1st rd pick. Barton
REG-GIE REG-GIE!! Bottom line. We NEED the Texans to beat the 49ers next week! If we lose out, we are almost certain to land the #2 pick behind the Saints. Which would probably ensure us Reggie Bush because the Saints will take Leinart. It would be even better if the Saints can win next week, so we can get the #1. Because if the 49ers have the #3, we have #2 and the Saints have #1, the 49ers and Saints could reasonably work out a deal where the 49ers leapfrog us for Bush, Saints get #3, and we get stuck at #2 holding our d**ks in our hands. And I'd like to say "screw you" to all Jets fans who wanted us to beat the Raiders 2 weeks ago. Meaningless win and now it could hurt us. I hope your happy. But, you're not the Texans. And, you're a bit more removed from their situation than Tx is. I'd take his word over what the Texans want to do. And, why wouldn't he play in Houston? It's the fourth largest media market in the United States. And it has a pipe line to China. That's a bit better than what New York can offer. If he can get into a cross promotional thing with Yao Ming, he'll make hand over fist what he'd make in NYC. And, besides that, he's already got the hype of being the next big thing... everyone is going to go to him. He could land anywhere, and people are going to come to him. He can, at this moment, name his price, and they'll pay it.
Barton
Please, shadow. You cant compare NY to houston. In NY he could team with Jeter or any of the Yankees and you're gonna compare that to yao ming? LOL NY media would make this guy a star and hype him to no end. He'd be on billboards all over the city. Not to mention the texans franchise is a complete joke, at least the Jets have been in the playoffs in recent years. Either way, I agree with you and tx on 1 thing. I hope the Texans win next week so we can leapfrog them should we lose out.

I'd hate to break it to you, but Yao Ming makes more money than Derek Jeter does. You're so short sighted, it's laughable. Have you considered anything past New York City? Anything at all? Not only is Houston not small, it has a direct connection to the largest population on this planet. Reggie Bush can, potentially, make more money in Houston. Derek Jeter is nowhere near what Yao is, world wide. In the states? Yeah... he's bigger. But, world wide? No. And, in Houston, he'd be all over the place. And, you know that NFL marketing department? They'd boost him. And the NFL is behind the Texans. They want them to do well. And, you don't think he's going to sign with Nike? Nike's going to push him to the moon. Or, if not Nike, than another shoe company. Reggie Bush is going to be all over the place. Think Lebron James. And, I don't care if the Niners or the Texans win or not. I kinda hope the Texans lose. Why? So they take Bush, and you Reggie Bush lovers throw a freaking temper tantrum.
Barton
Are you that clueless? You're gonna sit here and tell me the NYC market is smaller than Houstons? I'm speechless. You dont think Reggie Bush would be all over the place in New York? THE MEDIA CAPITOL OF THE WORLD NY is the biggest media market in the United States. The Yankees are the most popular team worldwide and Jeter is their captain. You're insane if you think Jeter is less known around the world then Yao, who btw would make no sense teaming with Bush in a commercial.

You think Bush would be a bigger media star around the US if he played on a lowly team in Houston, than in New York? This is hilarious. Yeah, I know you've got a massive hard on for New York, but it's not the end all be all of the entire world. First, I never said Houston was bigger than New York. I said it wasn't as small as you think. Y'know, with your New York tunnel vision. And, you missed the point all together. Reggie Bush is going to be a media star where ever he plays. He won't be any bigger playing in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, San Fransico, Miami, or Siberia. He's going to be huge. Lebron James plays in freakin Cleveland. And he's the biggest star in the NBA, domestically. World wide? That star would be Yao Ming. And you're freakin clueless. China is one hundred percent behind Yao Ming. You're freakin clueless. And, the Yankees are hardly the most popular team in the world. That would belong to Manchester United. Hell, the Yankees aren't even the most popular baseball team in the states. They are well known, but not everyone is in love with the Yankees. That's not a popular fact on this board, but it's a fact. Oh, and don't try to belittle the fact that Man U is the most popular and well known sports team on this planet. Soccer (That's European football) is the number one sport, world wide. Everyone knows Manchester United. Everyone knows David Beckham. And, I think you underestimate the Chinese market. And Nike. And the NFL. Reggie Bush will be huge, as big as he can be, where ever he goes. You just need to let go of the wet dream that Reggie Bush is going to go to the Jets. They're not going to pick high enough to get him. And they're not going to give up anything near enough to get him.
Barton
Ever hear of Japan? Japan is almost all Yankee fans. You're kidding yourself if you dont think the Yankees are Americas team. Backup these crazy statements with some facts. I at least know the Yankees were voted Americans team just a year or so ago. Reggie Bush will be big wherever he goes, but thats not the point we're arguing . He'd be BIGGER in NY. If you cant see that, I am done here because this is just ridiculous. And when I said Yankees are the most popular team worldwide I was talking about the big 3 american sports, which soccer isnt apart of. Out of the big 3 sports in america (baseball, basketball, football). The YANKEES ARE THE MOST POPULAR IN THE UNITED STATES AND WORLD WIDE. YOU ARE CLUELESS. Matt39
The hype around Bush will be huge wherever he goes- agreed. But to say the Yankees arent the most popular team in the country and probably the world is pretty weak. aec4
I did the math. The Jets opponents have 125 wins. NO opponents have 124 wins. However, GB/CHI play, so add 1 win. We also need Baltimore to lose to MIN.. It would up NO to 126 wins, and we'd be at 127 wins after NE beats us (so would NO). In other words, a dead heat going into the last week. RSJ
I'm not really sure what you are getting at here SS. Are you saying that because Bush plays in Houston he is automatically associated with Ming? Not sure that there is a correlation there. China's economy is also not nearly as strong as america's. China's economy is growing - no doubt. But it is a 100% manufacturing economy surviving on countries like america, japan, germany and others to survive. Thier economy has more growth potential that america's because of the different phases they still need to go through in order to catch up - but that will not happen during Bush's short career. Now getting to your statement that Houston is the forth largest "media market": Here is a list of the largest media markets in america for baseball teams. New York is #1 and Houston is #17. Please note that this is after splitting the New York market into 2. There is no replacement for instant and direct access to over 10 million people in the 5 boroughs alone let alone CT and NJ. http://home.nycap.rr.com/nickandaj/marketsize.html

bitonti
People say Bush is the next Marshall Faulk... Well it took 6 years and 2 NFL teams before Marshall Faulk _WAS_ Marshall Faulk. People say Bush is the next Gayle Sayers... Well Sayers had 5 or 6 DOMINANT years and then he was gone, without winning a ring. People say Bush is the greatest RB to come out since Barry Sanders. Well Sanders was great but never had the supporting cast, retired early, again without a Championship. --- What's my point? Reggie Bush would be great but the chances that he 1) saves the franchise 2) wins a super bowl are low indeed.
