"the off season" - the best part of being a Jets fan! So let's get this party started:

1/2  - WR/TE: interchangable - just make one of them a playmaker cabable of going the distance on any play please!

3 - OLB: need to have someone who can cover the athletic TE's of the league

4 - Offensive Line help: I'm sorry but I'm just not sold on Brian Winters or Willie Colon.

5 - Safety - Ed Reed.  'nuf said.

ok gang light 'r up!

1) a number 1 and a 2 WR to go with Kerley. Draft one and sign one as a FA

2) TE: Not crazy about either Winslow or Cumberland.

3) RB: They need a stud at RB. I think they can a good back to go with Ivory and Powell in the 3rd round.

4) Safety

I'd probably put WR on there a second time in the top 3.  I'd bump OLB down behind both OL and safety, as well as CB and even QB.  I'm not done with Geno, they need to at least get another (preferably proven veteran) option there for both depth and competition purposes.  While OLB could use an upgrade, it was far from one of their biggest weaknesses and they could get by if they brought Pace back and plus have Barnes getting healthy.  For those other positions I'm not sure the same or similar could be said.

WR

OT: Howard is a free agent.

OG: Colon is a free agent. Waters may have upside, but not established yet.

TE

Safety

I cannot imagine there's any way the Jets let Howard walk.  He has to be their #1 priority in terms of their upcoming FAs to retain.  However, if he somehow leaves, then that position absolutely skyrockets up the list of priorities.

WR1

WR2

OLB or, Barnes back

CB1 or, significant restructure from Cromartie

QB2, one that can play if Geno is pulling a fast one

this is probably the best list so far... for all the talk about improving the offense, if the WR get picked over the Jets might luck into a Darqueze Dennard or Khalil Mack and have to go D again... just cause that's the way the draft fell.

I would agree those are the most pressing issues we have ! But if cutler is out there we need to go for him also

1. WR (2)

2. TE

3. LG - Winters will be fine

4. S

5. RB (3rd down) Goodson? Powell?

WR1

WR2

OLB or, Barnes back

CB1 or, significant restructure from Cromartie

QB2, one that can play if Geno is pulling a fast one

On this list I'd swap out WR2 for TE as more pressing.

We could probably do top ten positions of need.

We'd probably be better off doing 5 positions we don't need:

K

DE

DT

LT

C

After that we need everything.

Everyone's touting Ebron as the next coming, but every time I watch him play, I look up, and literally see him drop the ball and grab his head.  I would actually prefer a consistent, hands-ball catcher that can get open, than some physical marvel who simply produces because he gets 19 targets a game.  For that reason, a WR2 in the second round has a higher rating for me than any first round TE.

TE

WR

kick returner

S

FB

If colon and cro walk, we will need to replace them and they will

both be priorities, replacing KR and FB, but Idzik should have

enough cap to add a a couple of real good defensive players,

and enough picks to young play makers, don't really want to see

cro cut, but I guess it's inevitable.

I'm assuming William Campbell isn't ready, but I have no idea,

and also that Cro walks, if they stay, add a veteran fullback

and kick returner to the list.

We need to replace the FB? Why? Tommy Bohannon had a nice rookie season, IMO.

We could use a veteran who can really be a lead blocker and

show Tommy the ropes a little bit, fullbacks can also play tight end,

and it's good to have 2 FB's.  A beast of a blocker would be a good

compliment to Bohanan.

I'd rather have a TE that plays FB than a FB playing TE.  FBs are usually short and one is more than enough on the roster.  Bohahon had a nice year and I'd rather not have two of those anachronisms on a roster.

Richie Anderson / Keith Byers type would be nice a guy who can run, block and catch, Tommy can't block yet, and he doesn't position himself for dump offs when Geno is under pressure, this is an issue, but not really his fault, he is a nice player, like Milner he got a lot better as the season went on, as did all our rooks and QC.
