2014 Schedule

Recommended Posts

For the past few months I've been saying if we get our offense together and geno develops well, we can go 11-5. We have a tough schedule this upcoming year.

At home were hosting:

Chicago

Denver

Detroit

Oakland

Pittsburgh

Buffalo

Miami

New England

and we're away at:

Green Bay

Kansas City

Minnesota

San Diego

Tennesee

Buffalo

Miami

New England

If we had this schedule last year, I'd say we would have went 5-11 or maybe worse.

This offseason we really need to step it up and there will be no handouts this upcoming season.

Our defense needs to prove why it should be considered one of the best and #1; our offense needs to show some life

WOW, 6-10, of course this is assuming Geno is our QB. 6-10, will mean we will have to trade up to get Winston or Mariota.

Agreed. Hopefully we go 4th round qb this draft. and I think if our secondary steps up we can beat the lions. they've lost to bad teams, they cant figure it out. and that goes for most of these teams, if teams can't pass on us, we have all the opportunity in the world. lets ******* sign jarius byrd and get some damn offense

Give me a break you Nancys.   That is a 16 game schedule and the Jets played 9 of those games in 2013 going 4-5.  That is counting the Steelers on the road. Do you really think they are going to go 1-6 against a schedule that includes Detroit, Minnesota and Chicago at home?  I'm sure some of you do, but some of you are ...

6-2 at home IMO, so the Jets will have to play .500 ball, or better to guarantee a playoff spot. And to those nay sayers about 6-2 at home the Jets are 20-12 since MetLife opened, and that includes the 3-5 record from the 2012 debacle.

minus oakland, every team on here that we played this past year we lost to. and it just got more difficult, adding chicago green bay denver san diego and the chiefs. and I said last year if we had that schedule we would have went 5-11, we had one of the more easier schedules last year. this year, no i don't think were gonna go 1-6 but its realistic if we don't play our cards right we could easily go 3-4 or 2-5 against those teams

Not impressed. They split the division and played every team they lost to on the road.  Chicago?  Ooooh so tough.  Detroit?   I live in fear.  Every year at this time people say how tough the schedule is and how easy the year's before was.  Then teams like Atlanta and Houston turn out to be sh*t.  I'm not saying the Jets are guaranteed ad good record.  I am saying play the games.  I'm not afraid of the Chargers or the Bears.  The Packers kinda sucked.  No telling if Rodgers gets hurt again.

packers sucked because rodgers was out for 5 or 6 weeks. Chicagos offense is something we should be worried about with our pass defense and yeah detroit isn't that great but again, neither is our pass defense and they have calvin johnson. we were home vs pittsburgh and got embarrassed.and yeah the chargers are hit or miss every year but our schedule was easier last year. but then again who knows, maybe we'll be able to beat the titans this year

Bottom line is:  They have to get better.  If they do, I'm not worried about the schedule.  If they don't it's not going to matter.

Cool, now I can just rub my nuts on Sundays instead of watching the games.  Thanks man.

Over the last decade, we've averaged 3-3 in the AFC East and I see no reason to think we won't at least split our divisional games this upcoming year.  Assuming that happens, something tells me that we're going to win more than three of the remaining ten games left on the schedule.

The schedule always looks harder prior to the season and then Atlanta and Houston go into a tailspin and everyone realizes that pre-season SOS doesn't mean sh*t. I've yet to see how the draft or off-season ends up, but I would be very surprised if we didn't win 9 games this season.

Season predictions are garbage. You have no idea what is going to happen between now and the end of preseason... Plus, we have no idea what the order of the schedule will be.

I don't care if we play DENVER the first game, the last game, on Christmas, New Years or the 4th of July, we aint beating them. Same pretty much goes for Green Bay at GB, At KC etc. I don't need to see the schedule or SOS or any of that crap. I just know which teams are clearly better than us and Denver, KC, Chicago, NE, SanDiego etc. are clearly those teams.

This is the same New England team that we beat last year, with the same QB who you routinely mention was one of the worst, if not the worst in the league?  You've also stated, ad nauseam that not only will we get a new QB, but he'll be better than Geno the second he steps on the field. So, if we beat New England with the worst QB in the league, how do you explain us losing to them again with even better QB play?

Odds are, we're going to split with them. While Brady is still Brady, he's certainly on the downward slope of his career and the patriots aren't the juggernauts that they used to be.

Exactly, we almost beat them twice this season... if Geno didn't throw 3 picks they were prime for the taking. I also don't see why everyone is so high on the Bears, San Diego is on the up-swing but they're definitely not a team we can't beat... No one thought we stood a chance against NO last year, and we'd pulled out a win. It's the NFL, it's a different game every week and a win is possible against any team.

Oh no, my predictions are based on Geno being our QB, since that seems to be the prevailing sentiment on this board. My predictions for the season are VASTLY different if Vick, or McCown or Manziel are slinging it.

Great, Here's Goodell next year:

With the 14th pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the NY JETS once again do NOT draft a Franchise QB.
