Folk, who was franchise-tagged on Feb. 28, enjoyed in 2013 arguably his best season in seven seasons as a pro and four with the Jets. He hit the game-winning field goals in the season opener against Tampa Bay, at Atlanta and at home in overtime against New England. He remains among the NFL's top three most accurate fourth-quarter kickers of the past 24 seasons, with his 92.2% career rate (47-for-51) trailing only Stephen Gostkowski (96.9%) and Denver's Matt Prater (94.0%). stoicsentry
Serious question: on the first day of free agency, they're devoting someone (or some group of people) to get a multi-year deal done with Folk? Is this Idzik's way of giving the middle finger to free agency? LOL

GREENBEAN
While I do like this signing, it just seems weird that we would announce it today, the first day of FA. We had him franchised. It didn't matter whether or not it got done. He wasn't going anywhere. We should have been focusing on other players IMO. Odd.
Smashmouth
so now we have to listen to Rex say "folk hero" 900 times waiting for reaction glad we signed him
