CBs still available

10. Cortland Finnegan, Rams
His two seasons in St. Louis have been widely panned as terrible. Stock has fallen dramatically since he was with the Titans.

9. Chris Cook, Vikings
The kind of big, physical corner the Jets like, but has a history of off-field problems.

8. Carlos Rogers, 49ers
His skills have been declining of late, so maybe not the best option for the Jets.

7. Champ Bailey, Broncos
Man, he didn't look so great in the Super Bowl, did he? Bailey's had a wonderful career, but he'll be 36 in June.

6. Brandon Browner, Seahawks
Must serve a four-game suspension to start season and is still slated to visit several teams not named the Jets.

5. Tarell Brown, 49ers
Injuries toward the end of the season cost him a starting job. Pro Football Focus called him a "capable number two."

4. Charles Tillman, Bears
Slowed by age (he just turned 33) and coming off a triceps injury, Tillman doesn't seem to be what the Jets are looking for.

3. Walter Thurmond, Seahawks
Has skills to play press coverage. Would Jets hold last season's four-game suspension for substance abuse against him?

2. Antonio Cromartie, Jets
Cro's still available! He visited the Cardinals on Thursday, but still no deal, so ... maybe?

1. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Broncos
Cro's cousin rebounded in a big way after a disastrous two seasons with the Eagles.

All those are to expensive for Idzik and his 40 mil. Someone needs to tell him you don't get wins for having largest available cap.

we aint goin to SB this year, ,get a few good young CBs and develop them and be a perennial contender eventually,,dont throw money in a non SB contending  year

None of those guys offers much upside, with the possible exception of Thurmond. I would wait for the draft for a DB. Jets need to get WR/TE help but dropped the ball on Pettigrew. Should look into James Jones, or even Hakeem Nicks who maybe Rex can motivate to play like he did two years ago. FA will dry up before Idzik pulls the trigger on any other deal. Looks like the anti-Tanny which is good cap wise, but the Jets are not much better than they were at the end of last season while NE, Denver and many others ARE.

Agree on Nicks when this guy is playing his A-game hes hard to defend.

the jets havnt won a super bowl in 45 years. under this logic, they should be under the cap by about 14 billion

we have a GM with big boy pants now who can look at his HC and say sh*t up, we aint signing that guy

tanny loved the thrill of hooking and pulling in the big fish. that was his style and you pay to land those players. when it works, you get roughly fair value for your money. when it bombs, you are hosed.

Terrell Brown or Cook on cheaper longer term deals or short term on one of the old timers.  We have guys at corner.  We are just looking for a "worst case" type of guy.  Milliner, Wilson, Walls, Patrick with Lankster and probably bringing Trufant and Berry back for matchups/ST is not bad going into the draft.  It would be nice to improve, but there are plenty of starts already in that lineup.

Broncos fee-agent CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is scheduled to fly to New York tonight to meet with the Jets, per team source.

Jallelujah!
