New TMNT Trailer.

Not sure how I feel about this: half of me is kind of excited, whereas the other half feels like my childhood is being raped. I'd feel a whole lot better about this if Michael Bay wasn't producing it.  This reminds me of when I saw the new Indiana Jones movie, but somehow more personal.  I'm still going to see it as the TMNTs were a huge part of my youth, but I loathe anything Michael Bay touches, except possibly the first Bad Boys. Megan Fox can't act her way out of a paper bag and while I get the purpose of having her in movies, I just get the feeling they're going to try to make more of a love story between her and Casey than necessary.

Anyways, here's the trailer.

Whatevs... if it's in the same vein as Transformers, then it'll be a "fun movie experience" and I'm seeing it. I don't expect high art, but I do expect to say "oh sh*t that was cool" at least once.

Also, The Rock was a pretty classic Michael Bay movie. He stays on-brand, you just have to know what to expect from a giant doosh who make movies...

Forgot he did The Rock. I'm gonna see it regardless, I just don't want him to nuke the fridge with this one. I know he had no part of the Crystal Skull, but that was f*cking traumatizing.

looks too violent

without the sense of humor, it's just more cgi crap

Didn't really think of the first part, you're right though, it doesn't seem like it's gonna be something you'll bring your really young kids to. Granted the comics were pretty dark, but the tv show many grew up on was marketed towards children.

If they somehow work Vanilla Ice back into the script, count me as sold.

Remember The Island? Bay actually trying to hand down some sort of social critique was all types of silly.

I did think Pain & Gain was great. Still shot ridiculously, but The Rock was hilarious.

lol.  I was too old to ever get into the TV show, but my son likes the TV show now, and I won't be taking him to see this.

The original comics are insanely violent. Pizza and cowabunga came way later.

This particular version looks like every Michael Bay movie ever made.

I never read the comics, but agree that this is just a by the numbers money grab.  too bad tho

Ooof The Island, surprised Ewan McGregor took that job. The only thing I was hoping to get out of that was some quality Scarjo sideboob. Not even worth it.

Eastman and Laird dedicated the original to Frank Miller (and Jack Kirby), who they were trying to emulate, and the books certainly reflect it. Issue #1 has a samurai sword covered in blood right on the cover, and it ends with them covered in scars and blood from battling the Foot before finally getting to Shredder. It was an insanely badass noir series, very dark and violent. I was a kid, so I wasn't aware at the time, but the way the story goes is that the comic world was pissed when the cartoons premiered and completely destroyed everything. I grew up on the cartoon, so I really don't give a sh*t either way. Had it not been for the series getting franchised it would have just been a little niche series that few people know about.

I never was really a fan, even when I was little, but I might check it out with the kids when it comes out on DVD. I remember hearing something about how the original script was going to have them be from space instead of mutants, but they changed things around when people got pissed off.

As far as Megan Fox, it's kind of a weird casting choice to me since I've always known April as a redhead, but whatever.

They should have gone this route:

The Island was a complete ripoff of a movie called Parts:The Clonus Horror. It was actually shocking how similar they are. Bay and crew were sued over it, I'm not sure of the outcome of that suit.

Isn't this actually the porn star who goes by April O'Neil? She really should have won the part, she already has the name. How hard can it be to beat Meagan Fox in an audition?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is her. I'd post a few pictures for comparison, but it's hard to find very many that don't feature her doing acrobatic things with some dude's wang.

I actually prefer the fan's re-done version of Michael Bay's creation.

They both look like sh*t. Eastman has been saying that this version borrows from the newer comics that have been running the past few years. Whatever, if they can make Van Zandt as Shredder work, kudos, but my expectations for anything Bay is involved in are absurdly low. Knoxville as Leonardo is ******* clown shoes.

Ehh, the first one looks okay, much more similar to the 90's version. Knoxville playing the stoic, straight-laced Leo just seems absolutely absurd and without Corey Feldman as Donatello, I'm not sure I even care. In all seriousness, my expectations are extremely low, if they manage to make me feel like I didn't waste $10 and two hours, I'll be satisfied.
