BigJermaineFromQnz
This whole season, and last season too, he always looks incredibly unhappy at all times? Even after he records a sack, he doesnt brag at all or dance, he just goes to the sideline and pulls off his helmet, and looks really pissed off for some reason. Also, it was reported that he was the only one who had completely cleaned out his locker and left the team right after the game. He was gone. I'm thinking maybe it's because he hates being in the precarious situation of being franchise tagged, and risking injury, but is it just me or does it seem like he just really does NOT like the Jets and playing for this team? nj meadowlands
The only thing I noticed about John Abraham is that he plays only when he wants to. One play he'll fly in and blow everything up for a sack. The next 5 he'll just stand up and do nothing.

Do you think he would give us 110% every snap if we signed him to a huge, long-term deal? I'm not saying he wouldnt, but i'm not sure.
Bugg
There are few better pass rushers when he wants to play. But he's never been a good runstopper. Teams run to his side and use his upfield agressive move against him. And he seems to take big chunks of the game off. It's a tough decision. BigJermaineFromQnz
can we do a sign-and-trade so we get some return on him? as it is what do we get if we just dont sign him and he leaves. nothing, right? i would love to see abe for schaub. if not schaub, the jets should feel lucky to get a 2nd rd pick for him. BigJermaineFromQnz
now thats says a mouthful about his character doesnt it? agree, abe for schaub would be a freakin steal yes it does. But you never know his mindset. He might be extremely worried about injury and raising his kids, and would let loose if he knew he was secure. He might be extremely worried about injury and raising his kids, and would let loose if he knew he was secure. 1st off, by my count he already has cashed in several million dollars in his young career,, if he has a brain bigger than a pea, his family is secure forever. 2nd, if he cant perform before contract years he is in wrong business... Do you think this guy is going to give 100% after signing a long term contract? No Fxxking way! Sign & Trade!
124
Abe was the first one packed and gone because of family issues...that's at least what I heard. A good trade would be Herm to KC and instead of a draft pick, try to aquire DE Jared Allen. He's like an Abraham clone. Strip sack guy and he's also 4 years younger, NFL expierence wise. Back to back legit seasons in KC. I'd love to get Allen.
madmike1
i would love to see abe for schaub. if not schaub, the jets should feel lucky to get a 2nd rd pick for him. so you want to trade one of the best pass rushers in the NFL for a backup QB or a 2nd round pick? thats insanity. GIVE ABE HIS CONTRACT he's earned it.

GIVE ABE HIS CONTRACT he's earned it. the jets would be stealing if they got a 2nd rounder for abe. he is not a team guy, not a leader, and 1 drink away from a 4 game suspension. why should the jets pay him like a top 5 DE when he isn't? jets can easily draft mario williams @ 4 and replace abe, a 1 dimensional DE. 4HCrew
J Abe is worth at least a 1st round pick period. And there is no way in hell I trade him for Schaub. I want Schaub as much as the next guy but he has not proven squat in this league and not giving up a proven pass rusher for him. I am sure Ty Law's locker was cleaned out last week

GIVE ABE HIS CONTRACT he's earned it....The voice of reason...Thank God...Anywho, my ten cents. Abe is just as one dimensional as the rest of the Top DE's. Some of them play the run better then the pass and vice versa. You guys make me sick with the Abe crap already. They signed Ellis and he's the one who came up lame for the last few games and didnt even have half the sacks Abe had dhis year. Yes he's excellent at pass rush, he got a little better at the run but not the best at all at it. But to answer someone elses question about money...the man made like 1.5 if that much each year for the first 5 seasons. Hell taxes in NY and NJ cuts that down to about what 800,000 if that...thats not much. This year is the only real money making year for him. Cut the man a break. He showed he's valuable to the Defense. Let him make his cash. I think he did the best he could do considering what the team was going through this year. And he did have a family issue to go home to. And he doesnt drink anymore...stop judging the man on that stuff and judge him on what he does on the field for once. You owe yourself that much... GREENSMACKS
he obviously played lax this year because he didnt want to get injured so he could get a new contract. it baffles me sort of because guys like edge and alexander are in the same position and had great years.... probably has alot to do with the coaching
RSJ
My .02 is that this has everything to do with coaching. Put abe in a 3-4 system in Cleveland or NE and he gets 20 sacks next year and no one says a thing about him vs the run.
