Wide Receiver Specific Traits

Separation Skills 4 Flashes ability to shake press. Sets up breaks with upper body and feet but raw route runner. Wastes too much motion. Rounds cuts. Inconsistent footwork and just adequate burst transitioning out of cuts. Takes extra step to gear down at top of stem. Can locate and exploit pockets in underneath man though needs to do a better job of settling at times. Ball Skills 3 Can extend and pluck passes thrown above head. Above average opening and adjusting to passes thrown behind him. Flashes ability to make contested catches. Good sideline awareness. Inconsistent. Occasional focus drop. Traps passes against frame. Can fail to control ball and complete catch when goes to ground. Big play ability 3 Adequate top-end speed though doesn't show a second gear tracking ball downfield. Not fast enough to run away from pursuit but can produce after catch. Picks up yards after contact. Flashes ability to make first defender miss. Above average open field instincts. Competitiveness 1 Doesn't take eye off ball or slow down to locate or avoid defenders over middle. Above average effort, aggressiveness and technique as a blocker. Plays with an edge and finishes. Fights for yards after catch. Flashes above average effort and awareness on turnovers. One ball security concern. Carries it away from frame when gets into space.
