bitonti
in all honesty if you asked me today on Jan 3 who will the Jets draft at the #4 slot i will say it comes down to this short list - if it is a player not on this list i would be VERY surprised QB Jay Cutler RB Deangelo Williams OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Eric Winston OT Marcus Mcneil DT Haloti Ngata DE Mario Williams LB Aj Hawk out of all of these i think it will likely be a 300 pound plus offensive or defensive tackle. These other guys on the list are all possibilites, some more than others, but Out of the tackles i think it will be Eric Winston. This is assuming that DBrickashaw gets picked top 3. if Brick falls than that should be the pick. Ngata also could be a darkhorse selection but i think Terry believes he can fill that role on the cheap with someone like Sam Adams or Makeoa Kemoeatu Alot can change, call it a gut instinct but I know Terry loves Miami players, i know Winston will be considered a top 5 talent after he runs and I know the Jets need a left tackle desperately. LionelRichie
QB Jay Cutler RB Deangelo Williams OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Eric Winston OT Marcus Mcneil DT Haloti Ngata DE Mario Williams LB Aj Hawk anyone on this list except cutler and deangeol williams would make me happy - adding bush and leinart that makes the top 10 very strong. if someone in the 5-10 range really wants to move up for a crack at Cutler, Leinart, or anyone else they think will be gone by the time they pick the jets could easily move down and still get one of those players. Mount Mckenny was the last stud OT picked from UM 0 sacks allowed in college career, plays for Vikes and yes he was on the luv boat too, but still a stud

Barton
maybe we can trade one of our picks for shazor? what do you think EB? Fair enough. But my liking for Shazor at this time last year was way overblown. I never once mentioned taking him in the 1st rd and still....he would have been a better pick than our 3rd rounder (who I called as a dumb pick from day 1, when CJ Mosley should have been the guy). I still think he

Give me a break, didn't that guy tear up his knee real bad? I hear he hasn't been the same player since his injury, and you expect us to take him with the #4 pick? The Jets need to draft a player that can get the fans excited.. A Vince Young, D'Angello Williams, AJ Hawk, Mario Williams.. Not a guy whose job basicly requires being fat.. Every 1st rounder we seemto take is on the dline.. We can't afford to take another.. There is also plenty of depth in this draft for Olineman.. Bitonti, The Jets are BORING and VANILLA right now.. I think you have to realize this.. Eric Winston/D'Brickshaw Ferguson/That DT from Oregon is a boring/vanilla pick.. Please understand this.. That is some horrible logic from someone who is supposedly a "fan". While I don't want Winston because of his injury history, if we can take a big-time player to make our lines stronger, then we make it. Xcel2NuFX
My opinion is that the top 3 guys are way better and all options for the Jets. With that said I don't see the Jets drafting in the 4 spot they will either trade up a spot or two or they will trade down for a late first and early second round pick... I think we would be better off trading down in the long run because the 4th pick may be very appealing to someone and we could find some serious talent later in the first round at RB. I say pick a RB in the late first round and pick a WR if round two with some serious upside... there are a ton of talented recievers out there that could be had in the early second round also. But you dont just take an Olineman for the hell of it. If Dbrick is off the board, take the BAP or trade down if possible. That BAP could very well be Lendale White if he shoots up the draft boards, or Mario Williams, who would make Abraham expendable. Or it could be Eric Winston, who knows, but I think if Dbrick is off the board, go BAP or trade down.
madmike1
they should be looking into trading down. there are 5 good LT's in this draft and they could trade down and get one of the 5 + another player.

While I don't want Winston because of his injury history, if we can take a big-time player to make our lines stronger, then we make it. Did you watch this team at all this year or were you too busy with your Giants? Okay Troll let me ask you this.. Why do you want to shed out another Robertson contract for an Olineman when we could've kept McKenzie for half price? Who even says D'Brick is going to be better then McKenzie.. D'Brick has had his share of injury problems, and weighs in at about 295.. Pretty underwhelming for the next Jonathen Ogden; whom himself weighs in at a lofty 345 lbs.. Not saying he won't live up to the hype, but this draft is loaded with offensive lineman.. The RB's and QB's,LB's, DE's in the 1st round are head over heels better then the ones in the later rounds; While you can get very good Offensive Line prospects in the later rounds.. Be smart Troll, the Jets need to make a high risk high reward draftpick.. How many Superbowls have the Chiefs won with their amazing Oline? You win with good defense, and while offensive lineman may sound "safe and smart" they can backfire.. Look at Manderich, Kenyatta Walker, etc.. He's listed a 235, and he should definetly run under a 4.6 This all depends on whether he even declares. He says its 50/50 right now. Tune in for tomorrows game vs texas. It wouldnt surprise me 1 bit to see Lendale steal the show from Reggie, poundin' out all the tough yards and breaking some nice runs. LenDale is an impressive player.
