Nick Ferraro
This is the part where Jet fans have to be careful what they wish for because they may get it.

Bugg
I seem to remember a team coached by Haslett beat a team coached by Edwards this year This is not an endorsement of Haslett disclaimer But Edwards gave a wonderful speech and did some fine interviews. And to some, that matters more than the game.

Henderson's already been given permission to talk to NO to replace Haslett. He's interviewing there either later this week or next.
bman
well we could offer him the job first.. I'm sure he'd rather take the Jets HCjob over the saints..
DHJF
well we could offer him the job first.. I'm sure he'd rather take the Jets HCjob over the saints.. If we did that, I think it would be more of a knee-jerk reaction at this point. Don't misunderstand, I like Donny Defense. Just don't know if he has the goods to be a successful HC at this time. For example: In '04 he was a fiery leader who demanded the best from his players. In '05 his demeanor changed as he toned it down and didn't seem to make his players accountable. Seems to me he's still trying to find his way as as a DC. I don't think he's a qualified HC. Yet...

baamf
Haslett is a better football coach then Herm Edwards. I don't agree. I think they are both mediocre coaches. Either can be successful when provided with an easy schedule and some above average talent. Neither will take you to the promise land when matched against superior coaches with the same amount of talent. I'd much rather take a shot with Dinger before making a lateral move to Haslett... LockeJET
Thank You! Herm isn't the best. But we could do A LOT worse. We could also do alot better..It could go either way to tell you the truth and its prob. worth the risk...Pee Wee Herman Munster Edwards is very very upgradeable.. Sperm Edwards
And there you go. BZ Goodie. So keep Herm out of the fear of worse. That's a sure ticket to the superbowl. Which would you have considered a "sure-thing" upgrade to replace Herm in 2006: - pre-Raiders Jon Gruden - pre-Patriots Bill Bellichick - pre-Saints Dick Vermeil - pre-Panthers John Fox - pre-Titans Jeff Fisher etc 2nd year after taking over a 4-12 Giants team that (for a rookie Eli & his monster contract) gave up two first rounders & more, the surly, washed-up, has-been Coughlin has won more games than Herm ever did.
