Last September, McDougle sustained a brutal shoulder injury that kept him out of his final 12 college games and limited him for a spell during organized team activities this spring with the Jets. Now he's got a torn ACL in his left knee that figures to keep him out of his entire rookie season. McDougle was not made available to the media after he got hurt at practice Sunday, but he just took to Twitter to react to the injury—and to the support he's been getting. Rex Ryan explained when the injury happened, “it was during one-on-one’s in the red zone and apparently he just came down and a cleat got caught. That is what I understood.” The NY Jets confirmed the severity of the injury. Rookie CB Dexter McDougle suffered a torn ACL (left knee) today at practice. — New York Jets (@nyjets) August 10, 2014 Cornerback remains a position of concern for the Jets. McDougle played well in the Jets first preseason game against the Colts. Now the 3rd round pick out of the University of Maryland will rehab and he is expected to miss the entire season.
