Barton
He said yesterday the The Jets and Chiefs were talking about mid round picks, maybe a 3rd rd pick..... I was just outside and it came to me...... Maybe its THE JETS giving up the mid round pick or a 3rd rd pick, not the Chiefs! Its possible maybe the Chiefs are offering their 1st rd pick + additional pick to us for our 3rd rd pick + Herm Edwards??? What their other pick would be I do not know. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd? If I am the Jets I jump all over their offer of a 1st and 3rd for our 3rd and Herm Edwards.... Because guess what? A 1st rd pick 20th overall will nab us Winston Justice or another very very good player in this draft. Not to mention we'll likely recoup a 3rd rd pick via nfl compensation from LaMont or McKenzie. We could be looking at: #4 overall #20 overall (Their 1st rd pick) #36 overall (Our 2nd rd pick) #84 overall (Their 3rd rd pick) #97 overall (3rd rd compensation) That just on the 1st day! We could get away with a stud running back, stud right tackle, stud guard, future center, and a Dtackle/Outside linebacker/Quarterback. Really, that would be incredible. Don't you think that is a lot of studs out of the draft? I mean, on any given draft you will MAYBE get a few good players, maybe a great players and just possibly a stud. To get 4 or 5 in a year? I don't think so. BZ
nj meadowlands
Barton: Get it through your head. Coaches cannot be traded for draft picks. Nor can coaches and draft picks be traded for draft picks. The only thing that's going to happen is Herm will sign and we will get compensation for it. There is no trade involved. And its not entirely impossible that we do get away with 3 studs because we'd have 2 1st rd picks and a very high 2nd rd pick. I'm thinking Lendale White, Winston Justice and Max Jean Gilles. In that order. And their 3rd rd pick should definitely nab us 1 of these 3 centers (Eslinger, Degory or Mangold).
Barton
You know what? If the Chiefs say not to their 1st and 3rd for our 3rd and Herm, this is what I would do. Chiefs give us their 1st, we give them our 3rd and Herm Thats a deal.
