Would you offer up Vick to the Rams?

Recommended Posts

I would do it in a heart beat, but a lot of these young guys on the team look up to him and love being able to play with him. Not sure Rex could get the most outta these guys if Vick leaves; especially Geno.

Next year is our year and Vick will be gone regardless.

I'd rather see Idzik trade draft picks since he clearly doesn't know how to use them.

You are arguing hypotheticals. No one has made the "points" you're arguing against, and then laughing at the logic of these never-made points is just the cherry on top.   And it's not hypothetical t

It's no surprise that a halfman like yourself would choose the same route. The bottom line is that there is 32 of these jobs out there, I don't know how you pass one of them up as someone who should have a competitive fire and confidence.

Please tell me more about this competitive fire.

Also, I'm quitting my job to go hunt elephant poachers in the Serengeti armed only with a katana and a pick-axe because competitive fire.

I thought you were going on that naked and afraid show?

There aren't even 32 in terms of availability next year. In 2015 how many teams will be looking for a QB, who will consider Sanchez good enough to bet their entire season on because of some good preseason numbers the year before, against mostly backups at that and with no DC or HC bothering to gameplan (or even value winning more than trying out experiments).

How many of these jobs will there be next year? Five? Seven max? Now if he's looking for something long term, cross of teams that will be in a position to draft someone in the top 5-10 who won't sign Sanchez to much more than a show-me deal (since he won't have QB'd a real game against starters and game-planning in almost 2 years).

He's a FA next year either way, unless he's so good he gets franchise tagged for $23M for 1 season, which only makes it worse as his fear will be a moot point.

In 2013, had he not gotten hurt, Stafford was on pace for approx 4000 yds, 30 TDs, and 10 INTs with Schottenheimer. And those numbers were based on playing with a then-useless Austin not an asset Austin. And if he's so smart he can impart this supposed Chip Kelly genius strategy onto Schottenheimer and say how much it supposedly helped him for 2 months in Philly.

Here he looks like an stupid pussy outright, or a half-smart pussy at best.

Yeah, Schottenheimer has really turned a corner.

Figures that a sarcastic straw man argument would be your response. What a shocker. Just like your failed attempt at an analogy to you taking an obscure job in a different field on a different continent.

This is an NFL starting QB job, and despite missing all of 2013 he's content holding a clipboard for another year. If he thinks his stock will rise higher holding a clipboard than actually playing, then he's a pussy.

The Rams job is a lost cause on a bad franchise in a division dominated by the two best teams in football playing for an OC that Sanchez personally knows is terrible and a head coach who might not make it to 2015. This idea that any QB should be clamoring to play there is absurd.

Sanchez is one play away from being the starting QB in a great offense playing for a kingmaker coach. The simple fact that the Rams would want him in the first place is testament to how great a situation Sanchez is in right now.

Yep, it has nothing to do with him already know the offense and the season being 2 weeks away.

and King maker HC? lol.. The guys had 1 freaken season in which his team lost in the WC round. Rex got further as a rookie and his defense was comparatively better then Kelly's offense. Knowing how big of a Rex fan you are, I'm sure you agree that meant zip 2 seasons later

Kingmaker in terms of developing QBs. Which Sanchez is. If he were a scrappy DE, he'd want to play for St Louis. Then Rex.

How come Vick wasn't king under this kingmaker? Is he not as talented as Sanchez?

The type of job that will be available to him in 2015 is the job that resulted in failure with its prior QBs, and if he's lucky it will be with a new coach and a new OC for that franchise, starting a rebuilding process for the whole team. Unless he thinks Seattle's going to come calling for him to take over Russell Wilson's job because he wants too much cash, like Sanchez would even be capable of doing that anyway.

He'd rather gamble on someone else getting hurt than show what he's got. That says he's a pussy.

And despite this great Schottenheimer handicap, how could Bradford be on pace for such solid numbers without a more-seasoned Austin at WR (he was barely on the field those first 7 games)? Playing in that same division dominated by those same two teams, for that same HC and OC. But that's too tough of a situation for Sanchez, and he's better off risking never seeing the field all year long.

He's a pussy.

Again 1 season, 1 QB, and he didn't make VIck into a King...

Using your methodology, we'd be running the #1 defense every year with Rex

And if Kelly were coaching the Jets, you'd be bitching about he couldn't adjust his offense to suit Michael Vick and how he doesn't pay enough attention to defense.

You've grown predictable and tiresome.

Vick got hurt

He sucked before that. Put up some numbers against pushovers; arguably the two worst pass defenses in the NFL. Then in his next 3 starts, as he and everyone else got even more used to the kingmaker's system, he had trouble completing half his passes, threw 1 TD and 2 picks (one a pick-6) plus a fumble. Then after Foles got hurt he got another chance against the Giants. Before getting injured (again) halfway through the 2nd quarter:  9 attempts, 30 yards, 0 TDs, 1 pick (also fumbled on a sack).

Vick sucked even with this alleged kingmaker. If he had a couple of rough outings and then things started clicking and he caught fire, and then got injured, that would be something else. But he was no better than with other coaches. Actually it was pretty much a mimic of his career: extreme highs and lows.

And Barkley sucked as well (rookie or not, the result was 0 TDs and 4 INTs and 3 fumbles in 55 dropbacks even with the kingmaker and Philly's wepponz).

Isn't it just more likely that Foles is a good QB who had an unusually great season?

This is why I loveeeee the Sanchez-in-Philly story so much, because of all the furious backtracking from Rex supporters it's causing. Now, 1. Sanchez is a desirable, high-value commodity that can be called upon to save a franchise's season and 2. Brian Schottenheimer is actually a really good OC. Awesome. Simply awesome.

Michael Vick earns double Sanchez.   If you think a little stint on the Eagles can't help him, I submit Matt Flynn and Josh McCown.  .

Well yeah, but Vick's career was a bit better than Sanchez's heading into 2014.

It's not that he can't benefit. It's that it's a pussy move. His goal is for someone to say, "Mark Sanchez we want you to be our team's starting QB." So there's a team out there that is desperate for a starter in the 11th hour and his reply is, "No thanks, I'll hold a clipboard and pray someone gets injured.

Huh? I read it as Bradford succeeded IN SPITE of Schottenheimer.

Sanchez is only "desirable" because the Rams just lost their starter for the season and are facing the reality of having a journeyman with an extremely low ceiling as their starter.

If Sanchez is suddenly in demand by teams that are looking to rebuild around someone next offseason, then you'd have a point.

Anyone who coaches the Jets you're gonna find some fault with and anyone who coaches somewhere else you are going to fawn over.

You are the king of thinking the grass is greener. Go suck Darrell Bevell's cock some more.
