Perhaps in the outrage the media can ask why is McDonald playing for the Niners? And why is Hardy playing for the Panthers? Isd the standard of conduct dependent on if there is a vdieo of a domestic assualt? Hardy already been convicted. His appeal could got on for years. People are sentenced to jail pending appeals every day. Aslo why are they not going crazY to boycott the Mayweather PPV this weekend? Otherwise this is all cheap grace.

Goodell has no business superseding the laws of our society when the very nature of his job is to reactively position the league for the best PR outcomes.

Tagliabue is the one that positioned the NFL to become the #1 sport in America, Tagliabue and the dumb luck of digital media and devices making gambling and fantasy football more accessible. There is NOTHING that Goodell has done that has improved the game, and he has "the shield" mired in the fallout of opening this Pandora's box about how the league needs to be the judge, jury and executioner of moral authority... BUT they make it up as they go, and punishment is determined by who committed the "crime" and not what the "crime" was.

For as pompous and regal as he tries to make his job sound, he really has done nothing but usher in this era of Jerry Springer / TMZ trash for the NFL. Instead of great stories about 7th round draft picks that have worked hard and found a place as a starting CB for a team like the Jets, or stories of the charitable organizations so many of these grounded players have formed and raised tons of money through, we get stories of wife beating, drug use, drunk driving, cheating teams, homicide... and a clown of a commissioner that administers biased punishment at the same rate as cover ups... all for the sake of PR.

The guy is disgusting... he is worse that David Stern. He is the Jay Leno of commissioners.
