You want our HC who IS under contract? PAY or or shut up. Why haven' the Jets filed tampering charges against these clowns yet? Why? Because Terry Bradway is positioning himself for a job next yr. The simple fact Dick Vermiel called Herm Edwards name out in a press confrence 2 weeks ago,is a big deal. Did I read somewhere Carl Peterson took Herm & his wife to dinner the night before the NYJ/Chiefs game week 1? WOW....What did you talk about? How bad the chiefs were going to kick your unprepared ass the next day? Is this all a coincidence? I tell you what. How Tag's can let this go is beyond me. Since when is a 5th & 6th rd pick "compensation" for a HC under contract? Since when can you barter a deal and then call it off after you force the wedge bewtween your HC and his team? Go look at the last 2 deals like this and tell me the Chiefs aren't trying to screw us. Why let them? Id rather keep our incompetent HC than get the shaft by a team trying to LOWBALL US!!! This falls on Terry Bradway. He needs to be fired immediatley woody!!! The latest news out of KC is Peterson doesn't want to give compensation to the jets because herm has fallen out of good graces with Woddy. As of monday Herm was happy and was "going to be here for the long haul" now he's on his way out? Kinda of funny no? Now Herm miight be fired and KC might just sign him for free? Very simple-We retain Herm under a "consulting" title and go ahead and hire our other coach. heck, we should even sue Herm for breach of contract. No one can make a bad one for us. UNLESS the NFL gets involved and makes the compensation less than what we desire. I doubt that would be their decision, though. You want to talk about aquiring our coach and then pull back negotiations because they don't think that the Jets want Herm? If they thought the Jets were happy with Herm why would you have even bothered inquiring about his availability? Would we want to talk to the Patriots about BB since we already know they will want to keep him? no we wouldn't that would be stupid. That is what the Chiefs gave St. Louis for "retired but still under contract" Dick Vermeil. Those picks back then were better than the KC picks this year. Personally, I think we should get much more because not only is Edwards still under contract he is the current HC. If KC wants to play hardball then they can give the job back to Gunther Cunningham. Then I would make Herm coach out his contract with the Jets. No extension just coach until the deal is over. Period! He'll either 1)quit but can't coach anywhere while he is under contract to the Jets 2)do good because he wants another job (good for us!) or 3) if he does bad then he'll be worth nothing and no one will want him. The bottom line is that the Jets have what KC wants. The only way that they will get what they want is if they pay. Breaking off negotiations is a ploy (they broke off negotiations how many times during the transit strike debacle?). The Chiefs will come back to the table, they are testing the Jets, who cannot blink. If they don't up the ante, Edwards stays and the Chiefs don't get their man. Hold a press conference; lay out his insubordination chapter and verse; throw him under the bus for once. He's as good as fired after all this. But they have to either keep paying him or release him from his contract. Keep the direct deposit going and tell KC if and when they really want him and Dickie Curl's clock management expertise, the price is at least a 2 and a 3. Or Just keep paying the Idiot. Tell Hermie and his agent to get the eff out of Long Island and have candidates checking out the HC's office as he clears out. One thing that occurs to me- make the move to NJ NOW and be done with it. Have the new camp up and running by the summer. It would be a whole bunch more attractive a job if everyone didn't have the move hanging over their heads and didn't have to deal with LI. One problem this team has is what a total clusterfVck LI is. Because the problem is any coach is going to want to buy a house near the practice facility ASAP and not rent for a year or 2 and then go through the hassle of moving again. Worse than that-the 3rd week in December the Jets went to play the Fins on Sunday, the Chiefs were playing at the Giants on Saturday. When first asked if he had met with Edwards Peterson in NYC that Friday, Peterson insisted it was impossible since Edwards and the Jets flown off to Miami Friday. In fact the Jets didn't leave until Saturday afternoon and Peterson and Edwards probably met that Friday night. And now both are "no comment" when asked if they met that Friday night. The Chiefs can't afford to wait, so they hire another candidate. Then... FIRE HERM. That way, you fck Peterson and Herm, real hard. Then you fire Bradway. Give the GM job to Tannenbaum and ask Heimerdinger if he'd like to be HC.
