GoJETS
Who do you want to see coaching the Jets next year and who do you want running the show? I'll list a few please feel free to add your choices and comments... Jim Fassel Gary Kubiak (probably headed to Houston) Norv Turner Steve Mariucci Jim Haslett (like him a DC) Dom Capers (like him a DC) Pete Carroll Jimmy Johnson
4HCrew
How about none of the above. Johnson and Carroll will never happen and are not really even options. Give the organization to Ron Wolf or bring in Kirk Firentz and give him some power.

They are all retreads and losers. Johnson won in Dallas but look at the Hall of Famers on that team, he did squat with Miami.
GoJETS
As long as he's available, you always ask the best guy if he has interest. That was bad situation and he was handcuffed by Dan Marino. As long as Marino was the QB that team had limited upside. The right thing was to get rid of Marino but how do you do that and not get run out of town? I don't know if he would have taken the job but Jimmy did say "they never asked!" I know Carroll probably wouldn't take it but his issue was with Leon Hess. with Leinart, Bush & white leaving he may want to leave too. Ferentz is a good choice (assistant with the Ravens)but I am not sure NY is the right place for him. Retreads? Only Capers, maybe Mooch? You have to look at the situations - what they inherit and what they leave - salary cap draft picks... Turner wasn't bad with Redskins and 2 years with the Raiders (aging team). He'll get a shot somewhere. Fassel is got the Giants to a Super Bowl. Team quit and defense coordinator (Johnny Lynn) was overmatched replacing John Fox. Wolf is too old... Preston Howley III
What about Tannenbaum as GM and Heimerdinger as HC? They are both under contract, anyway. And let's face it, next year is a wash; so you have these guys take a stab at it, and if they don't pan out, so what? Clean house after next season. Don't let those two greasy eel's Herm and Bradway force your hand or do anything in a panic. Just slow this whole situation down, Woody.
JetsMan57
Tannenbaum is an accountant and already has a lot more say in personnel matters than you think. This was reported in JC a while back; An agent once asked Bradway about one of his clients and Bradway said "I like him, but I have to convince Mike about him." Mike Tannenbaum and Jay Cross have too much say in the organization; One is an excel spreadsheet expert and the other was brought in to help get the stadium built, but somehow the two of these guys are making football related decisions. AHHHH. Only the Jets. I'll tell ya.

I just don't want to see Woody panic and make a long term commitment to somebody that we all discover is a shthead 2 or 3 years down the road, and have to go through another period like 2001-2005, again. I agree. Id tell Bradway to hit the bricks too if I were Woody. You dont think he has his eye on replacing Peterson in KC when he retires in a few years? The problem is you fire Bradway who hires the next GM? Woody? Cross? Tannenbaum? 3 guys with no football background. THe structure of the Jets is a disaster right now. I don't think anyone believes that their capologist is making key personnel decisions (and if he is, that is even more of a mark on Bradway). And Cross was only brought here to get a stadium. Plain and simple.

Plain and simple. Jay Cross is the team President. As for Tannenbaum, this was reported in Jets Confidential a few months abck. Believe what you want, but Dan Leberfeld has always been a credible source.

Tannenbaum might have tried to block a move because of cap ramifications which as the designated cap guru makes sense... If you take it any other way it sounds like tannenbaum has final say and not bradway.

However, President or not, there is no way that Cross has any other real responsibility than to arrange for a new stadium for the team. Just look at his resume. I believe he is an architect by trade. It's really the only thing he has ever done successfully (until he got to the Jets).

Tannenbaum was offered the GM job at Tampa when Parcells was about to take over, you dont think he has a say in personel decisions with the Jets other than determining how they fit into the cap structure? I think there is something to it.
