Bugg
I have an uncle who's a Giants season ticketholder. Was there when the had the planes, the Fumble, the burning tickets. It turned for the better. My brother's brother-in-law is a Pats season ticketholder. They sucked for years. They had the sh!ttiest stadium on earth. We used to laugh at him and his team-goodnaturedly-at famly gatherings. It turned for the better. In both cases, it came from strong leadership at the top and a commitment to excellence and hard work throughout. That's not the BS cliches that were Edwards' stock and trade while he jetted off to his latest $17,500 borefest while nobody gave a flying fVck as to whether people were working out. Luck is the residue of design and hard work, and bad luck just the opposite. Point being, this may be a real turning point for the better. Hopefully, Johnson's eyes have been opened. It's time to stop listening to pure BS , ask questions and demand a real commitment. I don't know how this will turn out. But it couldn't be any worse than it was this year. What ever you think of Edwards, Pittburgh was the high wate mark. It's easy to take shots at the franchise today. It will get better. And someday, soon( I seriously doubt in 2006, but no matter) the brass ring can get grabbed if there are positive changes made. It happened for the Giants and the Pats. They were as bad, worse in some ways. It could happen here. But it's a hard road. And may be this awful break from mediocrity and bullsh*t will put this team on it again. SlugORama99
I agree. We had one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game here for a few years. And even he couldn't get us back to the promised land. I think Namath must have sold his soul to the devil for that Super Bowl III victory. His deal cursed this franchise. Maxman
I think Namath must have sold his soul to the devil for that Super Bowl III victory. His deal cursed this franchise. He didn't sell it. It was a 40 year lease. The end is near.

By the way, how long was the deal that you signed with the devil to finally rid yourself of that albatross, TomShane?
Maxman
Max, I hope you're right. By the way, how long was the deal that you signed with the devil to finally rid yourself of that albatross, TomShane? It was 10 months with an option to buy. It is currently in the hands of the legal department.

NIGHT STALKER
To be honest, I don't see this franchise turning the corner anytime soon. No QB, CAP hell, no HC (yet) and a history of monkey dong that could make the Tale of Two Cities seem like a short story. Face it, old guys like myself will be taking a dirt nap before they hoist the Lombardi.
NJ
Good post Bugg - I'm thinking we now have the picks and the pain to put us back close to where we were last year and keep improving. There's a lot of guys on this team that will never be make a speech in Canton, but are capable of playing 100% better in a positive environment. NJ
No QB, CAP hell, no HC (yet) and a history of monkey dong that could make the Tale of Two Cities seem like a short story. Calling Woody Johnson! Your franchise is at the crossroads! You have people in your employ that aren't making good decisions (hopefully minus one after today). You can't pay that nice boy from Tennessee all that money to wave towels! I know he's the kind of kid you'd like for your son in law, but he's already married and he doesn't do blow. You have to get a general manager who knows the game of football at the professional level! Then you have to watch what he's doing! If you don't know how you guage that, hire an actuary - hire a room full of them! They will save you MONEY - coins of the realm! sorry. I'm done now. joewilly
good post bugg............. The difference between the giants/pats & the jets franchise is ownership!!!!! Mara & craft actually give a sh*t about their teams &(especially Mara) have good football knowledge to help them make sound decisions. q tips are much more important than pigskins when it comes to crack decision making from jets ownership
ASH_2162
how about the Lions? The Saints? It never changes... It will never change, just add the NY Jets to the list now..
