We're getting hosed; the Jets hold all the cards; this is an embarassment, etc, etc. But no one seems to pay attention to the absolute bottom line: We are ditching a sh*tty coach that should have been fired long ago....AND WE ARE GETTING PICKS FOR HIM! Period, that's it. Boo ******* hoo if we don't get the Chiefs 2nd and 3rd round pick. Sure as hell beats the draft picks the Saints, Vikings, Packers, Texans, Rams, and Lions got when they sent their sh*tty coaches packing. How is that getting hosed? Getting hosed is giving up 20 slots in the draft for Doug Jolley; getting hosed is trading a second rounder for Justin McCareins. Getting hosed is NOT, however, ridding your organization of an utter imbecile that has it spiraling downhill at a rapid speed...AND GETTING A REWARD FOR IT! I could really give a sh*t less how the media chooses to portray this. So the Jets are jokes; idiots; losers; second class citizens for letting an "amazing" coach with an amazing sub-.500 record walk for a couple of mid-round picks. Let them say it. Hem's Chiefs will compete for a couple years, but when Trent Green and their offensive line cross paths with Father Time, Edwards will be exposed as the complete fraud that he is. So call it what you want it. We are getting the better end of this deal. Something for nothing. Now, we just need to fire Terry Bradway, so the "compensation" for Herm does not end up being a fullback and a long-snapper.

Absolute truth.For the jets it's a chance to start over. And not a minute too soon. having the Idiot rant and rave through 2006 would've just delayed doing this anyway and wasted a watershed year of housecleaning.

We're getting something for a nothing. Just because this lying snake slithered out of here for a much brighter tommorrow -for now- he's still the same crappy coach. Edwards now also knows enough that he's just a figurehead in KC. If he starts messing with the offense or sends Cunningham packing with his loopy ideas, it will get worse much sooner.

This can only happen to the Jets.

First off, Woody should have filed formal tampering charges with the NFL as soon as this unfolded. Because if this was proven, the Jets would have surely received some type of mandated compensation.

But he chose to ignore it.

What happens if the Chiefs decide not to give the Jets any compensation for Hermy?

Then they have to fire his a** (he certainly can not return) and get nothing in return.

This can only happen to the Jets.

It's just like getting greedy on Wall St. You've already made money with your decision but you want to let it ride and get all you can. In this instance, take your picks after a little negotiating, and then get on your knees and thank God. We won with Herm's decision to bail - picks or no picks - everything else is gravy. And maybe it woke up Woody to the fact that we weren't just the victims of the injury cycle and the back-up plan really sucked.
