Jetsfan80
Also, the Jets have demonstrated they are unwilling and unable to draft competent WRs. I hope they don't just think the WR position is solved and bring in more legit WR talent instead of just expecting Enunwa or Evans to battle for a spot next year. We're definitely not done at WR, but the big spending is probably done IF Harvin is brought back beyond 2015. Right now Harvin and Kerley are basically going to be competing with each other for slot receiver duties in 2015 and beyond. Both probably won't be kept. I highly doubt Idzik signs a pricey free agent for the other outside WR spot.
LionelRichie
He will get cut, just like the Seahawks were going to cut him and just like the Pats will cut Revis, and then they'll have decided whether or not to re-sign him. He will sign a market-value contract at that point. He just found out that his value is in the 4th-6th round. he is value is in the 4th-6th rd when brought down by the 10M upcoming obligation. without the financial albatross of his contract he is worth more. LionelRichie
There is no obligation. Zero. None. that's not entirely true. there is 10M obligation if you want to keep him otherwise it's a 6th rd pick for 9 games + the right to pay him $7M. if Harvin was owed 3M / yr for the next 3 seasons what do you think the trade market would have been? lower or higher than the 6th rd pick. It wouldnt affect his value because it's a meaningless number that only comes into play is he was playing at an MVP level, LR. That $10 mil figure was never going to be paid by anyone

That $10 mil figure was never going to be paid by anyone so you saying that the Jets are giving Harvin 7M for 9 meaningless games so he can rehabilitate his market value before hitting FA in the off-season? the best thing the Jets could do would be to evaluate him in practice and keep him off the field on gameday. Even that is a lousy idea given the new coaching staff that will be here in '15.
jgb
just want to point out that changing strategies or changing your behavior due to experience or a changing situation is not hypocrisy. hypocrisy is saying one thing while doing the opposite contemporaneously. by the cereal box definition of hypocrisy most people have in their heads, every parent is a hypocrite whenever they tell their kids not to do something stupid or dangerous that they themselves did when they were a dumbass kid.
