He's another "it's everyone's fault but Rex's" guy. This schmuck can go pound sand.

while i disagree with this to a point, i don't think you can blame this solely on rex.  this team has NO talent.  aside from a solid front 3 (Wilk/Shel/Snacks) that defense has no good players.  Davis is a budding start and Harris is serviceable.  DBs are horrendous and the OLBs are trash.  talent on the roster isn't the fault of rex, it's squarely on Idzik's shoulders.  he lost out on FAs and butt-fumbled the 2014 draft.

i like rex, but it's time for him and Idzik to go.

Rex's biggest problem is organization the guy just looks disorganized .... His second problem is the lack of discipline for his football team ... The third problem is that we have been seeing the same god damn issues now for 6 years and while he CONSTANTLY says we need to get better with these issues we NEVER DO. WHY ? because the things we need to get better in is organizational and disciplinary and they are BOTH on Rex. So Rex Ryan who may be a very good defensive coach with the right pieces in place has no idea how to get those pieces or put them in the proper place ..... See Antonio Allen Quentin Coples if you need reasons to criticize Rex's competency when it comes to personnel decisions.

Rex could be a good HC if he had help but sadly he does not. He of all people should recognize his lack of managerial skills a HC needs to succeed. The GM in some cases can provide this but our GM cant even provide players/

Rex will do better somewhere as a DC IF (and its a big IF) the players are in place/ He's not going anywhere to coach players up he's purely scheme he's not a coaching guru like a Carl Dunbar who seems to get no credit even though hes coached up 2 of the best D lines in his last 2 Jobs.

Rex needs someone deparately to teach him how to be a coach in the NFL cause scheme will only get you so far.

Rex is not going to get fired because he does not know football Rex is going to get fired because he can't see his own short comings and he can't see that he needs help in both areas mentioned

Lots of teams lack talent, but we're the only constant circus. A team that's always unprepared (1-4 record after bye weeks) and poorly disciplined. Rex runs a Club Med atmosphere with no accountability, and always has. The same issues with the team now are no different than when he first arrived. He pays zero attention to the offense, to the extent that he's often on the defensive headset when the offense is on the field! He's married to a defensive scheme that relies on having elite CB's to play out on an island so he can do his stupid, predictable "exotic" blitzes. If our CB's are so bad, why not switch to a scheme where we try to get pressure with 4 down D linemen so we don't have to constantly expose our weak secondary? Rex is a stubborn, glorified DC who was promoted beyond his abilities due to his colorful personality. Ozzie Newsome had this guy pegged from the jump.

I was willing to give Idzik the benefit of the doubt since I support the philosophy of building through the draft and not wasting cap space on high-priced glorified JAGs like DRC, but that model doesn't work when you can't draft for sh*t. He can kick rocks too as far as I'm concerned. But I can't stand the Rex apologists, who I still view as the catalyst for Woody keeping Rex on into a new regime, which resulted in only a sub-par GM willing to take the job, and ultimately set in motion the chain of events that led us to our current predicament.

Rex is just a DC and he is not the best DC in the world.  Just finished that book Collision Low Crossers.  Rex just does not seem that engaged.  He never asserts himself.  He never improves.  They say he can look at a defense and see things other guys do not.  That is not necessarily a recommendation for a head coach.  It is a nice talent, but hardly speaks of administrative and long term planning acumen

Rex has been consumed by Woody corporate culture, emasculated, politicized, just another associate, conservative, take no risks, yes man, etc....

He probably made fun of this type of person before he got here

Wifey likes the perks

The whole Jet organization has turned into Walmart of NJ with the shiny facility and corporate conference rooms.

at this point here's my order of blame

1-The idiot invisible owner Woody Johnson who I tweeted to today to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sell the Jets and go and spend your time and $ trying to get politicians elected

2- Up from #3 to the on deck slot is Idzik. Holy crap, I didn't realize just how bad this guy was, no wonder he's been hiding away from the media-he is an idiot

3- Rex Ryan...time to go Rex, you are just like the QB you drafted when you first got here-a person who continues to make the same mistakes and refuses to learn OR improve.

You never answered my question I asked you a while back - how long should we extend Rex for? Please go on the record now, if you don't mind - thanks in advance.

We're in a bind here. On the one hand, we've got a top 10 coach. On the other, the worst GM in the league. If you fire the GM (as you should, and immediately) then the coach is typically gonna have to go with him. If we had a good GM in place, I'd give Rex 5 more years right now.

I just want to quote this now in case you ever try to deny that on 10/27/14, you called Rex a top 10 HC and advocated for a 5 year extension.

Support for Rex is not something I've ever hidden from, really. I'm sure I've been pissed after a few of these losses, but if you want to then you can easily dig up a bunch of "extend Rex for life!111!!!!1!!!" posts from me. Give him a real offense, he'll be a contender every year.

No, he understands the crap hand that Idzik dealt Rex this season. You have to put the blame where it belongs.

Yeah, right.

Every other coach in the league has to build their offense and defense, but poor, poor Rex, just needs someone to give it to him.

What a load of ******* sh*t.

You don't think Rex had anything to do with us drafting 6 straight defensive 1st rounders? Half of them misses.

We haven't developed a good skill position player in his whole tenure

The only reason we have such a lousy GM in the first place is because every top candidate wanted no part of Rex and declined the job if it meant keeping him on. So, say after 2 years on the job, we fire the new GM but impose the same conditions of his hire (keep Rex) on his successor - who the hell is going to want the job? We couldn't give this job away last time (again, why we have Idzik today), so what you're essentially advocating is for Rex to be given the Parcells role.

My main issue with the rant is that he says "Is the offense Rex's fault!?" Of course it is. He's the head coach. He hires the coordinators and oversees everything. A lot of this stuff falls on him because he's a head coach.

Didnt Lombardi, Landry, Knoll used to put their foot up their QB's azz constantly when they blew assignments.  Rex tells the media, "Sanchez is a 'good' QB.  Smith is gonna be a

player in the is league'. Rex has no balls - he is to busy brownnosing his GM to keep his job.  He is known to not even be in the meetings when the offense meets. He hires Sparano who had to be the worst OC in the history of the NFL.  Then hires MM who has a history of losing that is legendary. The Tebow fiasco, the Holmes fiasco, letting Sanchez play behind a 3rd string OL in a meaningless preseason game, losing the locker room a few years back,  etc et etc.  He has now been through THREE OC's and TWO GM's and this team is on the verge of a schizophrenic episode so damaging it may not recover for years.  Even Francesa, who is NOT a Jet fan, was having an emotional meltdown after he saw the Idziot presser.

This team with turnovers and quality QB play is a winner.

We saw it just last week. Geno was competent for one game (best game this season, I think) and the JETS were this close and that too on the road minus any turnovers. Add a one turnover differential and we win all the time.  The fact we are struggling in the turnover department means is all on coaching. Defensive coaching.

This team could be like the recent Chiefs where they got a new HC in ANdy Reid and a new QB in Alex Smith and went from top pick in the draft to a contender in one season.

Rex is not innocent, but he can only coach the talent he is provided.. Otherwise, it would be like blaming the coach of a H.S team because they can't compete at the NCAA level...

There is probably 15 guys that should be fired before rex...ie scouting, GM, etc
