Replacing one legend for another!

The Fat Man

Recommended Posts

Herman Edwards replaced a Bill Parcell's championship caliber team and in 5 years turned it into a mess.

He will now take over a 10-6 team with a high powered offense and lots of talent in place and in 5 years the team will also be 4-12.

Wait till draft day when KC has picked 4 DB's and 2 Safeties. Maybe Dick Curl can coach the clock over there too. Donnie Henderson should follow. No big deal he never played any white guys anyway!

And did better than Parcells.

herm: 39-41

parcells: 29-19

also, what year did hermy take the team the afc championship game?

BZ - i have always considered you to be a reasonably intelligent poster. but come on man, parcells took kotites sh*t team to 12-4 and the afc championship game in 2 seasons. herm took a 9-7 team to 4-12.

Parcells: 1 playoff birth in 3 years (33%)

Herm: 3 in 5 years (60%)

I agree that Parcells took a crap team and made it better, but Herm got the Groh team that wasn't all that hot.

Also, blaming anyone for this 4-12 year is just crazy. No team could have survived.

I am NOT saying that Herm is a better coach than Parcells, not at all. Parcells is the better coach, but everyone talks like he left the 3 time winning SB champs on Herm's lap when in fact, he left an aging team, to a HC that quit after a day.

Parcells also drafted EXTREAMLY well and built the team that in the 97-04 period made the jets a contender most years.

i can't believe you have such a hard-on for a coach with a LOSING record. but i am sure that was hackett's fault, or cottrell's, or maybe quincy carter's. herm had nowhere near the success parcells had in NY.

i am sure your blind allegiance will be appreciated by the next coach,,,

not that blind allegiance is a bad thing, just not for everyone

Well, that is where you just have your blinders on.

To say that a coach who got us into the playoffs 3/5 years had "nowhere near the success" is a bit off.

Again, I don't think Herm is a better coach than Parcells, but his record in NY was good and in a few years it will be interesting to see if any new coach can do better or if he can do better in KC.

For now, I just hope we don't look at Haslett.

Please no.

no.

Please.
