Mark Sanchez Talk - MERGED

Recommended Posts

We screwed up the best QB prospect we've seen in 40 years.

We deserve Mark Sanchez to go elsewhere and be successful. And if it's the icing on the cake to get Idzik and Ryan out of town, good.

I just posted in the gameday thread that the more I think about it, the more I agree with your sentiment that we would be far better off right now had we kept the 2 we forced out (Sanchez and Tanny) and fired the one we kept (Wrecks).

Yup.

Proven GM who had a successful series of playoff campaigns despite a new HC every few years.

Proven postseason QB who never was given back the playmakers he lost, had a HC that never invested in surrounding him with young WR's he could bond with.

Oh yeah, that Steelers game really was the beginning of the end without question and I really thought that applied to both of them.  The team's preparation for that game by Rex was unforgivable, but as was Sanchez personally handing the Steelers' 7 points in a 5 point game to close the half.  I was admittedly a supporter of both of them before that, but neither one of them ever seemed to mentally recover from that sh*t show.

Sanchez was the best Jet on the field in both AFC Championship Games, Rex Ryan gets a pass for blowing the lead in Indy the year before but committed the unforgivable sin of being completely unprepared for Pittsburgh the following year.

If you sat down and put pen to paper to figure out a way to destroy a second year QB prospect who'd shown some promise you couldn't have executed it any better than the Jets did. Unqualified offensive coordinator, check. No playmakers, check. No investment in offensive draft picks, check. Flirt with Peyton Manning, check. Tim Tebow sideshow, check.

Rex Ryan is The Devil.

This poster may be the most intelligent poster in the history of intelligent posters. Mark Sanchez humiliated me on Thanksgiving, I have not been able to even look at a turkey ever since. Mark Sanchez ruined thanksgiving, I did not even know that was possible, but he did it.

tumblr_mdxboqczAp1qaa3lso1_400.gif

Then you should be upset with Brandon Moore as he's the bad guy.

Look at Moore in the GIF.

Prior to Sanchez arriving, his left foot is being picked up off the ground, his shoulders are rotating, and Wilfork is already throwing him back. Look at his helmet reach the yardline before he gets hit by Sanchez.

Look at Wilfork in the GIF.

Watch his shoulders and back of jersey as he violently spins and lifts Moore off the ground.

Now look at Sanchez in the GIF.

He starts his slide before he hits Moore. Watch his knees bend and his helmet dip prior to contact. He's in the process of sliding. Mark Sanchez was running towards daylight and Wilfork threw Moore into him.

Geno Smith wasn't ready to take the helm as starting QB for the NY Jets he was rushed into duty he should have sat behind a veteran starter who could mentor him.

The one really good thing about starting a rookie from Day 1 is that you can figure out whether or not he has the right stuff very quickly. So while he ruined the last 25 games he did prove unworthy in record time which helps us this year and next. He also helped usher Rex Ryan out the door and proved that John Idzik is impulsive and clueless.

So all in all, the Geno Smith Era was a success.

Deserve it?

that's funny.

Rex Ryan ruined the guy in a ton of ways. No playmakers, no young receivers for him to bond with, invested all of his time on the defense, and then sacrificed him to injury in the preseason.

But above all else I blame Jets fans. People who saw the butt fumble and never took into account the lack of talent around him and scapegoated Mark Sanchez for everything wrong with this franchise, usually to protect their beloved Rex Ryan. For those fans, I wish nothing more than Mark Sanchez to do very well. The only way the Jets move forward is to learn from their mistakes, and perhaps Jets fans made one as well.

Sanchez becoming good under Chip Kelly would be the final, perfect nail in the Rex-Tannenbaum coffin.

As a Jets fan it is the only entertainment value left in the season. Let's see Mark win the division on the day Rex and Idzik are fired. Poetic.

Nah, your troll game has just become incredibly weak. And around these parts, that's saying something.

Thinking that the Jets gave up too early on Mark Sanchez is not rocket science, not some original idea. Not everything you disagree with is "trolling".

Yet you confirmed your trolling when you called him gullible.

After he called me an "idiot".

Someone calls you a derogatory name, that's okay. Responding to him, that's bad. Nice rules you have.

17 points in the first quarter? Sanchez must be on fire.

Looks like the 2009/2010 Jets to me. Defense making plays and generating turnovers, ocassionally give up the big play. Offense has a running game and playmakers, special teams contributing in big spots, Mark Sanchez a complimentary piece.

For those who forget, not only did Mark Sanchez lose all of his playmakers and see them not replaced, but because the running game was awful and the defense was awful, Mark was asked to throw 40 times a game. It was a double-whammy. Nice to see him getting another shot. Either way, it's a win for the Jets. If he's awful, we know we didn't make a mistake and we can sleep better at night. If he's good, it's a further indictment of Rex Ryan and it'll ensure he's thrown out and never gets another head coaching job in the NFL.

lol, thanks for making my point for me here.  What happened to you?  You've gotten to like MACPAC levels of bad.

I don't know who Macpac is and I'm not trying to be dramatic. Merely voicing an opinion in the appropriate thread for such discussions. I believe the Jets may have found the franchise quarterback that's been eluding us since 1972 and ruined him. It's going to be an interesting few weeks seeing if we did or didn't make a mistake. Hey, if we were 6-3 I could care less about this. But we're not and football is ruined for 2014 so might as well enjoy fantasy football and the Mark Sanchez Revival Show while we wait for next August.

That opinion is all fine and dandy, but when you're attempting to celebrate victory after every positive play while carrying on about how an awful throw on an awful read somehow isn't his fault, then it's nothing but equally as awful trolling.

That was called "being funny". I'll put little smileys at the end of such things if you need the help.

Meanwhile, Mark is looking sharp. Let's see how things play out in the next few weeks. Will be interesting conversation, no need for it to get contentious.

I'm confident that a Mark Sanchez-Eagles playoff run would be the best Jets thing ever.

NFC Championship Game at Philly, Tailgate Joe, full Jets contingent in Jets gear, green and white confetti fills the air, feels just like the real thing.

You in?

Is Rex unemployed at this point?

Yes.

And he is in Philadelphia tailgating with us. And showing off his Mark Sanchez tattoo. And bragging about his son in Clemson. And saying he hears that the Eagles had a really good week of practice.

All of you will get beat up.

Nah, Firefraud will smell the publicity, will come down 95 and protect us.

And I will spend $1200 to hire that plane and fly a banner that says "Mark Sanchez and Darelle Revis - Super Bowl Bound!" Will be a laugh-riot Alice.

And right after a Rex Ryan MetLife commercial playing Snoopy Trophy theme music.

It doesn't get any better than this.

I remember at this other forum, SARS was saying after 2012 to fire Rex and make a heavy play for Chip. Everyone called him an idiot and a troll.

After that I remember him saying Sanchez was the best QB the Jets had had since Namath. Everyone called him an idiot and a troll.

Like just about every thread created over at that dumpster fire, they age like a fine, fine wine.

SARS, since you don't post there anymore anyway, you should go necro bump all of that stuff just as a final FU.

Your day of vengeance has come.

Instead of vengeance I've decided to become a Philadelphia Eagles fan for the foreseeable future. It's nice to be right though.

And watching Rex Ryan, John Idzik, and Jets Insider go down in the same year is a nice Christmas present.

This is setting up to be too good to be true.

Mark Sanchez returning to MetLife Stadium on Christmas weekend, can knock Tom Coughlin and Rex Ryan and John Idzik out in one fell swoop. Game will be flexed, Eagles can get a bye. All it takes is a huge contingent of Jets fans, the J-E-T-S chant after every Eagles score. Forget planes and banners and road signs. Will be an epic social media NYJ takedown for all the NFL to see.

Thousands of cheap tickets on Stubhub, Tailgate Joe, Fireman Ed, we need to fill the place with 20,000 Jets fans.

Who's in?

it's a MOVEMENT

There are 6,556 tickets available on Stubhub. Sections 126 to 133 on the Eagles side of the field should do the trick, get us on TV, give Fireman Ed a place to chant down low.

Mark Sanchez Jets jerseys are cheap online, I'll find a place where we can get them for $15 bucks each. Or should I do a Kickstarter for our own unique design?

Now that we have 8 Sanchez threads going, how long before the barrage of Drew Stanton threads?

Remember him?

This isn't another pro-Sanchez thread.

No different than the brave souls with the "FIRE IDZIK" billboards, the plane at practice, the plane at the Steeler game. If we fill our stadium with fans in Jets gear doing the Jets chant and getting behind Mark Sanchez, makes a far louder statement and on TV too.

I need to reach out to Fireman Ed. Anyone have his email address?

Awesome. This is going to be great. Likely the only meaningful football game we'll attend all year.
