Fishooked
Every damn time I see a new Mortal Kombat game out I go out and buy it. And every damn time I get home, realize I have no friends, realize I don't smoke pot anymore much these days, and ask myself why the &$^% did I just buy this game...AGAIN! I suspect if you're a young dude screwing around getting high with friends and roomates all the time MK is a cool game to own. When you're a near 40's old man with one or 2 friends that don't play video games this is not the game for you lol. Aye, that's why it's usually single player games for me. Multiplayer is maddeing for me since I generally suck at them, so all that does is enrage me when I should just be relaxing and having fun. Should I feel like less of a man because I play COD multiplay locally with me alone vs 9 Bots set to recruit because it's pretty much the only way I'll ever see a care package or any other scorestreak award? I play online and I'm that guy way down on the bottom with 2 kills and 15 deaths lol. It's embarrassing. Little kids calling me out telling me how much I suck and to get off their team lol! T0mShane
Witcher 3 update-ish. It takes forevvvvvvvver to upgrade, but once you get to Level 7, you're able to not get killed by absolutely everything that approaches you. The positives of the game are: 1. Most of the eight million storylines are clever and will keep you interested. There are murderous fetuses, you have to make moral choices that include possibly killing the chicks you bang. 2. The map is huge and there are 1,000 different enemies. 3. Everything is pretty. The negatives: 1. Takes forever to improve the character, so you spend substantial time "eating" food to regain health after literally every confrontation, even with puny animals like dogs and wolves. 2. Figuring out how to use Alchemy and Crafting is impossible, but you need to do it in order to defeat other characters. There are a billion different plants, rocks, metals, chemicals, etc. 3. The combat system is basically button-mashing. It looks cool, but you're not really doing much outside of forward rolls, shooting fire, and slashing. I haven't been able to play much except on weekends, so I'm still stuck on Level 7. I have serious add when it comes to open world games, so when it comes to finding undiscovered locations, I can't help but wander around to all of the "?" locations on the map, Many times the enemies were a way higher level than me so I had to run away like a pussy. Listening to the dialogue and voice acting is spot-******* on. Even the side quests are interesting and fleshed out. LOL I just finished the 'botchling' quest the other day. I love the minimap, comes in handy if you want to avoid enemies, although I would prefer that all of the ingredients plant icons come up all the time. I like the fact that it shows you if a person or animal is 'lootable' after you kill them. Looting is a pain in the ass, sometimes the corpse disappears you and have to keep mashing X in hopes you find the tiny spot on the screen that is lootable. I don't like the inventory system, in that I wish I could carry more swords & weapons to sell. I wish there was a sorting option, from most valuable to least, highest number vs lowest, etc. WHen it comes to ingredients I don't know what is rare and what isn't, so I end up keeping everything and I don't know what to do with it all. But goddamn this game is just so big and deep, in the map size, items. enemies, etc. It is definitely a lot of fun. I guess I have a lot of issues with comparing it to Skyrim, which I loved, but that did take getting used to as well. The only thing I dont like about the combat is the fast attack makes him jump around when I'd rather he be stationary - there were a couple of quests where it was a pain in the ass. But they have been great in addressing a lot of the issues and patching it regularly, which is great. Should keep me pretty busy until Fallout4. Pac
Made my triumphant return to gaming after 6 mos off. Played Wolfenstein which was quite fun but wasn't the leap I had hoped for from PS 3 to 4. I started Infamous Favorite Son but the first couple hours have been kind of disappointing. I'm hoping it picks up. I'm also playing Walking Dead 2nd season... I don't usually play games simultaneously but the lady friend wanted to watch some gaming and will only watch certain types of games. I like the choose your own adventure style as it reminds me of books from my childhood. That said I'm not sure how much your choices really impact the story. Went to Gamestop this weekend and picked up Dying Light, Bloodborne, and Sleeping Dogs definitive edition.. I've got about 10 top rated games to get to over the next couple months. I'm assuming that once you get a hang of the Alchemy/Crafting angle, then you can improve the experience a lot faster. It's fun, but it's frustrating to be a Level 10 and get destroyed by a Level 22 dwarf or some sh*t.

CTM
1 day into ESO, first tip... I wasn't able to log into North American servers last night because of volume, so I went with the European server. What i didn't know is that my character is now bound to that server (as well as any upgrades you purchase), so I'm kinda stuck there unless I want to start over. It's not laggy, but not sure if a language barrier will be more likely down the road for group quests. Having lots of fun with it so far, one issue is that when many people are playing at once occasionally you get microphone bleed through and you can here other players talking through your TV (which makes being on Euro server all the more fun). It's also error'd out on me once or twice, but otherwise been a stable non laggy experience that doesn't feel as robust as skyrim, but I'm sure more dev time went to the MP aspects

I've heard mixed things about it, I'm sure it has to look better than Skyrim. Also I've heard the combat seems to be more arcade-y, are you seeing that as well? This game has been on my radar for so long...but Im not sure if I can justify it right now. I haven't seen any PS4 reviews yet either. Graphics seem a little less then Skyrim tbh, but brighter.. there is often so much happening on screen at a time concessions had to be made or frame rate would bog down. Combat is very arcade like, it's almost impossible to miss with the bow (which is fine for me, lol) (also unlimited arrows, which is great). You also have things that bound and flip over your head which takes a bit getting used to cause the controls/response is still Skryim like, and not more responsive like Dark Souls

CTM
Keep me posted, I'm very interested in playing this. And send me a friend request, azzwipe. PSN:Fishooked Haven't played in a few days, will look you up when i do. As to the game, the lack of an easy Skyrim like fast travel really sucks some of the fun out of it. I know the role playing nerds didn't like it, but they still have the option to just hoof it everywhere if they are that serious about the role playing (by just choosing not to to fast travel). This is similar to what I remember of Oblivion where you spend a lot of time running back and forth, particularly if you like to loot and sell items to build gold.Skyrim was more fun cause you could just instantly go where you wanted, or travel close to it if you'd already been there. There are Wayshrines in this game, that allow you to fast travel, but you have to get to them first.
Jetlife33
I think I'm going to have to pick up the new Batman game. It's weird to me that's it's coming out in the middle of June? I thought this was an October release. I usually don't play as much video games during the summer as I do the colder months but it looks like I'm going to have to make an exception. Sounds like we're in the same boat. I bought the PS3 with the exact same intent and then they did this thingy with Batman and I have to upgrade. So stupid. Honestly, the thing that annoys me most, is that I'm going to have to go into a Game Stop or something, with my console and my games to trade in for a new PS4. At 36 years old, I'm a little embarrassed by this. So much so, that I'll probably do something stupid and waste a ton of money and order a PS4 online to ship to my house and then try to sell my PS3 and all the games online too....all so I dont have to do go into the store with all my sh*t, like a 12 year old kid. haha

The Xbox 360 and PS3 are basically at the end of their respective lifespans so you you'll see fewer and fewer titles coming for them. It's pretty much PS4/XBOne from here on out. Sounds like we're in the same boat. I bought the PS3 with the exact same intent and then they did this thingy with Batman and I have to upgrade. So stupid. You might do a little shopping around online to see what the PS3s are going for, then check GameStop to see what they'll offer for your stuff. I'm not sure which path would offer more bang for your buck if you're looking to upgrade but it's probably worth looking into.
