Formula51 Posted January 7, 2006 Share Posted January 7, 2006 I don't know how you guys lasted through all these years, but this team makes me sick to the point where I'm physically ill. How many people do we have to get rid of before we actually know what winning is about? I've been a Jet fan for only three seasons, and already this team is wearing me down. I try to have faith every season and offseason trying to tell myself, "It can't be that bad" or, "Wait till the bandwagoners come when we become real good", but now I don't know what to do. How can I support a team that I'm not sure I believe in anymore? Letting Herman Edwards walk out the door for a bullsh*! fourth round pick really disturbs me, not to mention all the other shortcomings I've read about from this squad. It frustrates me just to read about it; I can't imagine how you guys must have felt going through it. I did not realize how much hard work goes into being a diehard Jets fan. Can you all tell me what it is that you do to get through times like this? I need to hear from people who have seen the Jets on this road before. Anyway, I've been a Jets fan since the Jets drafted Joe Willy Namath. You learn to flow with the tide being a Jets fan...kind of like you expect the worst and hope for something good to happen. Like right now getting a new HC...chances are no matter who it is, he will tank out like the rest of the HC's before him...welcome to Jetland. This is nothing. Compared to what some here have gone through. It's not a great situation but all teams in the salary cap era have to go through a rebuilding period. But then I gave it a chance, and sort of picked the Jets to be my team at random. Hey Junior..The Jets ARE MY TEAM!! And have been since I was 16 and they were the Titans in 1960!! I just happen to be a Realist and if I didn't have a sense of Humor about the Team I couldn't have endured the last 45 years of this Team! Why would I even care about the Jets? It's not like they are (or will ever be) a threat to the Pats. All I do is point out how the majority of Jet fans are absolutely delusional about what their team can accomplish. Just watch when the Jets announce their new HC. madmike1 Posted January 7, 2006 Share Posted January 7, 2006 theres a reason the pats get lucky. they always are in a position to win, you can't dispute that. as much as i hate them and their coach, they have earned my respect. luck only gets you so far in professional sports, and the pats used way more than luck. sure. it's not all luck and i didn't say it was either but when you have sub par talent the way they do and you win every year you have to look deeper into whats going on. yes they are VERY well coached but if anyone saw the jets-ne monday night game and any other game they play for that matter you can't HELP but notice that they get every call. from defensive 15 yard fasemaks on the jets to the tuck rule to their o line basicly molesting abraham on every play and the refs not calling ONE HOLD. and it's the same thing every game they play. in the NFL where the level of talent on most teams is equal and the difference between the best teams and the worst teams is very small a few small breaks can turn a 8-8 team into a super bowl winner.
