Wah wah wah..typical bitch and moan Jets fan. We just won a game against a hated division rival..let's start a thread to complain

No it is the #4 & #5 Deep draft at the top, there are 2 QBs, 2 supposed stud pass rushers, Cooper, so god forbid we get the best Olineman in the entire country, lol. Not sexy but it's done wond

Maybe if Idsik wasnt thinking with his butt going for the cute, drafting a 5'6 punt returner saunder and Shaq Evan over 6'4 acc maltavis bryian and bruce ellington, there was no need for Beckam jr.

Wouldn't we be on the hook for $14+ million in dead space the next two years?

No. Or at least I thought it was closer to $9M. And that space is accounted for and hitting our cap whether he's kept or cut or traded.

The net gain from cutting/trading him is the money he would have otherwise been paid this season, which Jason has at just under $8M. It doesn't clear up $8M all in 2015, but it does clear up that much long-term by not paying it.

From a potential top 3 pick to the 6th pick. Yay

I dont even think he will have gone with Beckam anyway.  Heck, Brankin Cooks was there for the taking, a team that lack explosiveness on offense and not only he did not go for the sure need a CB in Fuller but for C. Prior when we already had Allen and Landry at safety.

How long did it take cowher to win a ring?

Can we stop with the how long did it take Bill Cowher to win a Super Bowl nonsense?

He went to the playoffs his first 6 years, 3 of those to the AFC championship game (since 2 counts so much for Rex) and once to the Super Bowl.  His worst record was 6-10 (twice) and he had 3 non-winning seasons in 15 years.  He was always competitive, and that included years with Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox (of XFL fame) at QB.

It's not the same.

Not sexy but it's done wonders for Dallas.

With a new GM I think we'll be ok picking at 6.

Yes good point. If the Raiders skip on Copper then he will be there at 6.  If not then address our OL which sucks and draft  Brandon Scherff. . It needs to be revamped. DBrick  is done and costs a fortune. Trade him for a pick.

It's frustrating to suffer through a season like this and only end up with a 6. But you can't ask players to lose. Especially in this organization.... It would be leaked to the media instantly.

What worries me is Geno playing well. Don't want Woody getting any ideas and hitching his wagon to that horse.

How did Belichick do in his first six years and how many playoff games did he win? Save one season, he was a consistent loser until Mo Lewis saved his job.

By this logic, Rich Kotite didn't get a fair shot as a HC.

For every BB story (or Pete Carroll), there are 20 guys that fail.

But, like the Pennington apologists (of which I once was), there's no reasoning with you.  I like Rex, but his time here is over...just like Belichicks was in Cleveland (right before they moved to Baltimore).

Yea, except it took three years for Smith to live up to his draft position in Dallas. If we drafted an OL top 6 and he plays that poorly for three years, this place would explode. And where are we playing him? Cutting our new RT or sitting our uncuttable LT?

I think Giacomini's the uncuttable one actually. The Rams just took Robinson at #2 overall, started him at guard, and then he eventually ended up at tackle. Jets are definitely going to need someone after Brick. Not ideal, but I think it'd be doable.

The top 5 is going to change a ton from now to draft day anyway. I'm sure the loss will be a problem, but hard to tell why at this point.

You still draft BPA & if that's a stud can't miss best Olineman in the land you pick him.

How do you know that a top team doesn't lose an LT to injury early into the season & let the speculation begin.

Desperate teams trade picks for a player like Dbrick if the injury bug hits.

If the Jets signed Iupati in FA & drafted the highest rated Olineman in the entire draft @ 6 you would complain?

Any GM worth his salt would be setting this Jet team up to send Brady off to retirement.

We just crashed the Dolphins party by blowing them out on their own field with their "future QB" & "future coach" in place & a team snug up against the salary cap & we will be 50 million under the f*cking cap!

The Bills have Orton as a QB!

Anyone that believes that taking the reins of the Jets is a losing proposition is out of their mind. Other than figuring out the QB quandary, not many other jobs offer such a bright future with the right moves. THIS is the most important draft coming up in 2015.

With a new coach with no "pet players" next years camp is gonna be pretty damn competitive, especially if the CBs can come back from their serious injuries.

Read something earlier that said best case scenario for Jets was 4th overall pick...4th or 6th doesn't adress our biggest need...QB, so today's win cost us nothing.

There is no diff between 4 and 6 because the jets need a qb, right. What if Tenn has questions about Winston but doesn't want to take a chance on missing out on Williams or gregory or cooper, If the jets were at 4 the trade could be made, If Tenn drops to 6 all three may be gone. makes the cost to trade up much more.

Do you actually look at the team he took over, and do you realize that most of the time there there was only plan B free agency. The best rex ever did was 2 more wins than the team that Mangini left hm. BB took over a 3-13 team with a washed up QB and what was one of the oldest teams in the NFL. Jet fans hatred of him makes no allowance for not having FA to help build a team.

He then went 6-10. 7-9, 7-9 and 11-5, The last year he was 500 when Modell pulled the plug and the season fell apart. BB made plenty of mistakes as a 38YO head coach, but no where near the mistakes that Rex did.   Before he got there the pats went to the SB withhim and Parcells, then went 10-6, 9-7,8-8 under Caroll, he then had to tear down the whole thing and went 5-11.

Winning this game cost us the ability to trade down and recoup picks.

At #4, we could have traded down for a team salivating over Randy Gregory, Leonard Williams, Shane Ray, or Amari Cooper.

We might still be able to land the draft's best OL, Brandon Scherff, but now we have to get him out-right, without trading down and accumulating an additional pick.

Hopefully the top 5 will all be busts and we will get the last laugh. LOL

You lost me in the second sentence. When you exchange a HoF QB for Mark Sanchez and a beast at NT in Kris Jenkins for Sione Pouha, it's not the same team.

I don't think Rex will ever be Belichick. I am concerned that the field of coaching candidates out there is God awful and that the Jets could end up with something worse than they have now.
