Divisional Playoff Games Weekend Thread

The ground can not cause a fumble on a run, but it can on a catch unless the receiver makes a football move. Did Bryant make a football move?

Crawling into the end zone is not a football move.

He did not have total possession of the ball.

That was the correct call.

Cowboys sure got hosed.  Wow.

Yes they did.  Two weeks in a row with terrible officiating being the story in the playoffs is not a good look for the NFL.  But, then again, when was the last time the NFL actually looked good?

Between Goodell's nonsense and the piss poor officiating on a weekly basis, it's getting more and more to watch the NFL each week.

He had possession till his elbow hit the ground.

That's absolutely true, however the rule states you have to have complete possession of a pass through the end of the play.

According to the rules, that was not a complete catch.

Listen to Mike Perrara, he said no way that was a catch

I wholeheartedly disagree!

Those are the rules. Even though he had the ball in his hands, even though he caught it it's still an incompletion at that point. He has to hit the ground and make sure the ball doesn't have any contact with the ground for the ball to be completed. From the moment he caught the ball til the moment the ball hit the ground the refs basically treat it as if the ball was still in the air. It could have hit him in the helmet for all they care. If he falls down and then catches the ball after it hit him in the helmet it's a catch. He catches the ball however, falls down and the ball somehow touches the ground, it's an incomplete pass. It's pathetic.

If Dez catches the pass on the 10, runs with it and then dives for the EZ and the ball comes loose, is it incomplete?

End of discussion, very good explanation.

Diving for the endzone(the point of the game) is a football move.

Crawling into the end zone on your Hans and knees is a football move?

If he had control of the football when his elbow hit the 1-yard line, it would have been a legal catch.

Give it up already, the reversal was the correct call.

You think this ******* pathetic excuse for a rule makes sense?  They let guys "catch" the balls that scrape the ground now.  I long for the USFL

Bryant caught the ball with an unbelievable leap/grab.  He's actually reaching for the end zone when the ball moves.  That's a friggin catch.
