mbn007
ALL EASTS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL (NY Post article, a snippet) Josh Beckett (Red Sox) and A.J. Burnett leave Dolphin Stadium, and also the NL East for the AL East. So besides a favorable home park, the two starters purge the pitching paradises of RFK Stadium and Shea Stadium from their itineraries. In 17 starts in the three favorable stadiums last year, Beckett was 11-3 with a 2.42 ERA compared to 12 starts elsewhere in which he was 4-5, 4.90. In the favorable stadiums, Burnett was 6-5, 2.87 while going 6-8, 4.16 elsewhere. Beckett and Burnett played in front of a strong Marlin defense, also. Not saying that these 2 will struggle in Boston and Toronto, but..............

I'm not a big fan of pitchers coming from weaker divisions/bigger ballparks to the AL East. When healthy Beckett is still a stud and Burnett has great stuff but wasn't able to put it all together in the NL East. I'd expect some decline in performance from Beckett but he's still a guy worth giving a shot.

mbn007
Give us Damon's Fenway and elsewhere splits. Not saying he will struggle...but. Nice try. But there was a blurb in the same papaer, over this weekend, that a source expected Damon to do better in Yankee Stadium, as Fenway is notorious for not giving lefty hitters any advantage on drives to right. If you are looking for a hitter with home and road struggles, try Soriano. His differences were stark, indeed!!
GimmeShelter
Damons OBP and BA are almost 50 points lower away from Fenway. Randy's Home- Away splits are glaring. My point is you can find a 100 players you can do this too if you so choose. Beckett did fine his last time he took the Yankee Stadium mound.
